If it helps I fly that blue foamie of mine with a Park 370 5400kv motor, 10x8 prop, GWS "D" gearing with a 2S pack. At wot it justs barely goes verticle. Plane weighs 9.6oz without the 2S battery. If I recall correctly it draws around 10 - 11amps static at wot. Motor is a little warm to the touch. I put a 3S 2100 pack on ot once and it went ballistic. Motor was pretty hot.

Those numbers seem odd. Did you include a gearbox in that??

Tommy,

I attached a picture of the MotoCalc screen. This is how I received the numbers listed above.

you need to add a gearbox , the way you have it set up is as a direct drive, that is why the amps are so high.

so what are you saying, don? this is the wrong motor for this plane (E-flite Park 370 Outrunner 1360kv)?
the plan calls for either a GWS EPS100-A or EPS300C-C and the AUW is around 12oz.
i plan on using a 2S lipo too.

I am saying the motocalc simulation shown used a Park 370 inrunner with a KV of 4100 running a 9x6 direct drive prop. So you would need a gearbox added to it to lower the amps. Or the simulation changed from and inrunner to an outrunner , but then the KV would have to change from 4100 to 1360.

has anyone ever used the Dean's 3 pin for the ESC to motor connection. i'm thinking about using these for a CDrom with a CC TB9 on a 2S lipo. i have bullet connectors on the motor now and this may be a weight issue.

got it done. yes it works. nice and light too. although it was running the wrong direction, i hooked it up to the PHX-link and made the change. running good now!!

I got some of those Deans micros for the ESC-Motor connection. They work well but you have to patient when soldering them.

those would probably work since i am only (hopefully) going to draw less than 5 amps.
