Photos of German planes at Freeman Field in southern Indiana. It's amazing what was there. There's a group excavating parts of the area and finding parts of these planes. This is upper bible belt, corn country. I'd a never guessed in a million years there were german planes buried there. Also the hometown of John Cougar.
Ever want to put stars and bars on a FW-190? Me neither, but now you have scale documentation if you do. http://www.facebook.com/bphobbies?sk...9984890&type=1 |

Fighting the Flying Circus - free audio book
Fighting the Flying Circus
by Eddie Rickenbacker (1890 – 1973) This is the WWI memoirs of Medal of Honor winner, Capt Eddie Rickenbacker. He fought in and eventually became commander of the 94th "Hat-in-the-Ring" Squadron, which ended the war with the highest number of air victories of any American squadron. The circus mentioned in the title refers to the German squadron commanded by the famous Red Baron, Manfred von Richthofen. (Introduction by Brett W. Downey) http://librivox.org/fighting-the-fly...-rickenbacker/ |

2bfly is putting some effort into their site. Looking forward to the Android version of their AMA app when it's ready.
I've recently subscribed to 'Indy Transponder' http://indytransponder.blogspot.com/ It's a summary of events and news in the aviation community, with an emphasis on historical aviation and air-shows. Lots of dates, short articles on old vets, and stores about air shows. It's a great resource. |
