Friend of mine did all hard work, I just made servo holder and some small parts.
This is model specially designed for Slovenian S8E/p team, so for now is only available for members of team.
Pictures and video are coming soon as I get new launching pod for model. It doesn't fit on my old.

Owner of site is Blaž Grgič (Great man, who made this project real)

Hello again,

Any details? like what motors used and approx. heights? This model looks very clean and I'm interested in it's flights, thanks,

Hello everyone,

I do S8EP since 2006 (first rocket flight in 2007 ). I have made a slow, continuous progress, until have made some wing moulds. Pictures are better than words, so I let them talk.

The model is 184g with the burnt motor. The Wing is quite heavy(120g with servos, LiPo 1s and receiver inside), but the fuse and fins compensate.
Wing span: 1200mm, airfoil HD 47, super-elliptic leading edge, nonlinear twisting with respect to the aileron hinge line.
Receiver Jeti R4 without shrink
Servos Robbe-Futaba FS-31 - 3 pcs
1s LiPo 100mAh

With the exception of rocket phase, flies quite well. There is an important roll-yaw coupling. Have to reduce motor angle.

It's not clear for me about rocket climbing with this model. Although I won (first time) the national title in Romania(only three competitors ), launches were terrible bad..... Hope to solve the issue, in order to compete in the world cup this year (Irig/Serbia).

Thank you Muto,

I have met Tashko Dragov this year and asked him about you. Hope to see him again in Serbia. I keep an eye to modelistika, to see what happens in S8EP class in Bulgaria. I like what they do.

Just want to add that in the competition, clouds were really low, so we all launched into them.
In one of the flights, I haven't seen the model for maybe 10s. Had to wait with the stick pulled. One friend showed me the model - it was quite far.

Victor

My competitor and friend Mitica prepares the flight:

Hello Dimitri,

A friend milled them for 200E. The material was another 200E. It took 4 full days on a CNC router. Two milling tools another 40E...
I made a big mistake trying to save money (aluminum alloy - guys don't mill steel because takes too much time). Chosen 10mm thick plates(12E/Kg), which bend a lot after milling a face(5-7mm in the middle!). However, they were clamped well during the milling. To correct them, just screwed along some rectangular parts(after working two days).

Hope next year to make a single piece mould. That will be more expensive.
But we need to know the decision for this class: 20Ns or 40Ns.... Don't want to waist money.

I plan to test the model again tomorrow(with a launch phase in emitter), but prognosis indicates strong wind. Hope to fly and make a movie.

The next wings will be simpler: 45 deg spread tow carbon (80g/mp), carbon roving as spar and polyurethane foam as core. Just ordered materials and as usual, I'm out of time.
Hope to make it until August 20th, when we go to Serbia. Tests will be in place, as usual.

Two days ago I tried another combination, quite expensive and heavy. Non woven 8g/mp carbon(takes a lot of resin), 1.2mm thick airex (PVC foam) and carbon again, with 100g/mp unidirectional as spar and local reinforcements. It's as heavy as the wing you see in pictures, which is 25g/mp glass/ 0.8mm light balsa/ glass. So, no more sophisticated sandwiches.

I'm out of money, so spread tow is the last chance to get something better.

Too much talk....

Victor

You have to switch on vaccum baged wings. Easy to change airfoil and shape. And save alot money.
