T-Rex 450 or ARK X-400

Just toying with the idea to get another Heli, which would be your choice and why.

Very True, I have started to read the posts all 678 of them LOL
but I wanted a quick opinion and I would then go from there.

The T-Rex 450XL CDE is the only logical choice at this time. The Ark is suffering from an apparent lack of updates.

trex...not because it's a better heli....you could argue either way...but because:

lots of support for it
lots of advice about it
lots of distributors
lots of parts / upgrades
And most of all, Parts are cheap !

there's lots of parts and upgrades for the x400 too. MANY Trex parts fit on the x400. CCPM upgrade is only 45. CF frames are like $50. that sounds cheap to me. I think replacement parts are approx the same as the Trex and will probably get better in time.

the x400 is a somewhat new. i think it's doing well considering it was released a couple months ago.

I agree with OzzieFlyer. Get either the T-Rex 450XL HDE or CDE model .....get the one that is visually more appealing to you because they both fly about the same.

The X400 was out before the 450X V2 T-Rex and now the Rex is up to 450XL with huge advancements. The quality of the Ark kit is nowhere near the Rex. I have all of them and this is from personal experience. It's been more than a couple months.

the ark is more than a couple of months old..it's been around for a while now.

and if you are going to Trex parts on the ark, you might as well just get a trex.

i have nothing against the ark, but if you just look at the forum posts and online shops, Trex stuff is everywhere, ark stuff is not very common. Every time you see a trex posts, there's lots of views and advice...The ark posts aren't as active.

so for a newbie, a trex is easier to get help, advice and parts for.

Pretty much any heli can be made to fly as well as any other...just depends on how much money and patience you have

I have been flying my ark for couple of months now and I am very pleased with it. My only other heli is a piccolo and it was great to learn on, but the ark is silky smooth and so much more stable. The trex is much more common and it seems the later versions are pretty good right out of the box, but I think the ark is an exceptional heli, especially for a first production run kit.

perhaps the reason for so many changes in the Trex is because it NEEDED them!! and the x400 did not.

perhaps there is soo much activity on Trex forums is that it has soo many problems!

anyhow, im under the impression that ark has thin availability in europe. seeing that your in france maybe it is a better idea to get a trex no matter the technical advantage.
