3 Aerobird Challengers Flying at the same time

My self and two other friends were flying our Challengers at the same time (diffeent channels) and found that our radios were interfeering with each other. My plane would not turn left and when you tried the motor shut down, plains not responsive in turning (probably starting up in beginners mode) wings not responding properly (full left the wing would go up then return to original position with transmitter still in left position.
Has anyone had similar problems ?
What kind of distance should there be between us to avoid this problem if that is the problem.

Note each work properly when flown one at a time.

Assuming that ALL 3 of them are on DIFFERENT channels.

There can be interference problems sometimes when transmitting on directly adjacent channels (example: 19, 20 & 21, etc.). If this is the case, you may be able to change the frequencies to get more seperation (check with the manufacturer) or just avoid the whole situation all together.

We have had as many as 4 HZ planes in the air at once with no problems.

Are you all standing together when flying your models together? If you're at one side of the field, and there's another Tx at the other side of the field, your signal can be swamped by the other signal when your model gets closer to the other Tx than to you, even though you're on different channels So, pilots should all stand together.

Also, is it only your model that's getting interference? Your symptoms sound a bit like something else I was reading here about a particular type of Rx, but I can't remember which one it was Tell us a bit more about your radio, and maybe someone else will have an idea about that.

Three channel

Hi, thanks for all the responses. We usually stand side by side. The transmitters are all three channel standards that come with the Challenger. We noticed that it can be a problem going into pro mode with people turning their transmitters on at different times. Last night we were two on each side of a football field and noticed when one plane came near us from the opposite side it lost some control. Interesting situation, we were wonder how well tuned the channels are on these planes and if some of the functions overlap because of this.
It just makes flying a little more interesting.

Three of us have Commanders, and my controller has definitely interfered with a fellow pilot's (and they're on different channels). They are on adjacent channels.

Yup - "interesting" is the right word

In my club, even though we're using "full size" radios, we insist on even channel numbers only. That's so that nobody has adjacent channels so there's no chance of interference. For us, it goes back to the old days when radios weren't so stable as they are now

Even channels only? Boy that must go back a long way. Never heard of that before.
