A few "workbench" pics that I promised.

Jetset44's F-15 Eagle (Still need to shape the canopy as well)

"Nasty" 3D Flyer - "Waterdog" design from RCGroups

Still saving up my pennies for servos and stuff for these planes. I figure by the time I have them done I'll have some more experience to give them at least a fighting chance in the air

Well, here's what's been hogging my bench for about the last six months. This one will never fly, but it is a leftover from my winter hobby. I keep chipping away at finishing it, but the flying weather has been too good. It is a Monogram 1/32 scale F-4E receiving decals for the Missouri Air National Guard.

So, the Mini Funtana is relegated to the kitchen table. I bought this off of a friend who was liquidating alot of his electric gear in order to stick with nitro. He was going to convert the plane to gas. I am ordering a new cowl, landing gear, and wheel pants, and then she should be good-to-go.

THanks Matt! The two hobbies actually complement each other pretty well - I can use a lot of the materials, paints, glues, etc for both. I am itching to apply some of my scale modeling experience to a flying aircraft - that's why I was thinking about building a warbird or two this winter.

scale flying aircraft are one of my favorites. it's always fun to try and find material that's light but still provides a scale appearance. on the down side...when your plane is thirty feet from you, it dosen't matter how scale it is .

Sweet F4 Phantom!

The F4 was/is my favorite plane. I used to make a lot of 1/72 scale models as a kid. My buddy and I used to keep Wings Hobby Shop in business in my youth.

After spending a day in a deep state of depression, (brought on by the sight of my beloved Shogun plumetting from the sky like a meteor ) I did a bit more work on my Comanche...

Wheel well doors are installed, though not functional yet

All the primer has been sanded off and she's been given a fresh coat of Helo Green paint

And the intake and exhaust vents have been opened, detailed and screened

Hey Ken here's some info for you about the retracts. http://www.helihobby.com/html/micro_heli_retracts.html I think there's a video of it but I can't find it.

i just ordered a eflite park 400 outrunner for the SQuiRT. is this too much motor? it's the hi torque version. i'll be using a 20 amp ESC with a 3 cell lipo (still have to save my pennies for the lipo).

i have to say that the build on the SQuiRT is real easy. all laser cut parts and so far, everything is fitting very nice. i should be able to finish the wing and start on the tail feathers tonight. that's only about a hour of work!

Here's my Blade XL, or as I like to call it "The Big Ugly". I'm just getting started, the whole family has been sick this week. I think it's time for a bigger shop if I keep building bigger planes.

update on SQuiRT.
I GOT THE WING DONE...Yippie!
this plane is really built. what i mean is, i think it may survive my style of crashes.
parts are going together fairly easy. i still have to do a little sanding and minor fitting.
i'll see if i can get some of the fuse done tonight.
picking up servos and Eflite park 400 outrunner on fri.....can't wait!
