For more speed use a 8*8 APC E. That's what the PC-9 uses, same gearing.

That is good to know. I guess I will need to order one. That is encouraging as the PC-9 scoots pretty fast.

LOL -

MA - I assumed he was talking to you!

Yeah I won't be flying mine this coming weekend. I still need to decide on 3s3p or 3s4p.

Thanks for the invite! If I were in the area - I'd gladly take you up on the offer!

got a new 3 cell lipo for the "Sparky 400". i changed the prop to the original size and reprogramed the pixie20P.
WOW, does the motor scream!
i'll give it a run tomorrow morn. before work.
i gotta say, this plane flys sweet. i can see my SS being put away for awhile.

qiuck update on the SQuiRT. everything is done. motors in and i should have the rest of the gear mounted tomorrow night.

i've got a question too. which lipo manufacture do you guys prefer. i kinda like thunder power but the apogee was ("was" as in i fried it tonight putting on new deans ends) a good lipo too. any suggestions?

How did you fry the Lipo adding the Deans on? Did you short it out?

I have Apogee and TP packs. I have had problems with both brands, but TP has replaced everyt pack I sent back to them. Apogee told me to pound salt so i do not buy anymore of their packs. Never tried Tanic but Matt says they are great.

Well other than cosmetics I'm about as far as I can get on the Spitfire until I recieve my order from AllERC and Bishop Power Products. I have the electronics and servos coming from AllERC and a couple of new TP 2S 1320 lipos coming from BPP. Hopefully everything will arrive in time for me to get them in the plane for Sunday.
I bought some "Afrika Sand" colored model spray paint this evening to attempt my first every camo job. I also tried to find a color that matched the green of the painted foam to touch up the nicks and stuff on the original paint.
GWS kits are pretty random as to what they pack in the box I'm finding out. My E-Starter kit had everything in it that I needed. The Zero kit had two right side aileron control wires (had to modify 1 to get both working) and my Spit kit didn't have any of the "paper" hinges to mount the control surfaces Thankfully they ship pretty much the same parts kit with each plane so I was able to find about half the hinges I needed, I made the rest from cutting up a page from the instruction manual, which is about all it's good for anyways
Here's how it currently looks:

I like the shape of that wing - that tan cammo is going to look sharp. Try the film inside floppy disks for hinge material. It should be cut into long, thing rectangles and fitted into slits created on the mating edges of the control surfaces. It held up to the rigors of 1 1/2 flights on the BD so far!

Thanks for the tip Kevin. I would have used a floppy disk (what a stupid name) but I haven't had one around for years. I'm going to experiment with my camo technique this evening. I don't have an airbrush or an artistic bone in my body so it ought to be interesting. Straight lines are my friends, curves are bad

RANT - I hate how the forum switched the "attached image" software recently. I can't view any attachments from my work PC now.
