Charger RC is located in Lake Elsinore, CA. They offer several kits and make it sound like these are very popular.

They freely use Jason Kause's name in their advertising. I wanted to know if this kit is worth the $$$ or is there something better out there? I currently have a Tribute and Combat wings Nighthawk. I've had Shock Flyers too.

Any build issues? It says "ARF", so I would assume that it goes together pretty easy.

It is built out of 6mm foam, One of the fastest foam kits around to build and a great price. The airframe can be put together in your hand in about 2 min before you add one drop of glue.

I ended up buying one of these from my LHS. Looks pretty cool but how did you cut the groove for the carbon spar in the wing foam? I was surprised that it wasn't already grooved for plug 'n play assembly.

I did not grove it , I glued to the surface. Does not change how it fly's

You can cut a V shaped groove with a no 11 knife and metal ruler and then draw the edge of the tube spar down the length of the groove just cut and this will round it out just nice. Lately I've been using my dremel with spiral hole cutting attachment along a straight edge works like a little plunge router and cuts a perfect slot. For the price these kits offer alot of bang for the buck.Yogi

I have build about three of these kits, The last one that I built I cut the wing in half on the cg and glued in a pc of 1mm x 5.7 mm flat carbon fiber. There are all kinds of way's to make it work. You are right, for the price of these you can't beat it.

For $35 + S&h these kits look like something a person into instant gratification (read: me) would really like! For an extra $10 all the parts are cut and it sure looks like these are plug-'n-play.

Like I said, I'd rather pay extra $$$ and buy an easier building kit. Years ago I built balsa models and I hated the building and repair so much that I got out of flying RC for several years. Now with the foamies and electrics I'm again enjoying the hobby.

In addition, I like to support my LHS - so much so that I checked the stores around me to see if they carried the Fancy Foam line (they don't).

I may go ahead and build the one CR-1 that I have, but I'm pretty sure that a FF Sukhoi or Yak is in my future!

That is with no shipping for the Depron

$ 7.00 extra for a cut out ready to build plane. Don't see how they making much at there prices.

You can get a pretty good price on Depron if you buy it by the case. If you enjoy building you can "save money" by building your own foamie. For me I don't enjoy it and I consider my time worth a lot more that the $25 I might save spending extra hours building.

For those on a tight budget it's an alternative to the cost of the kits. I'd rather pay and play than slave and save.

i have recieved some of these to test some prototype out runner motors on.
they fly great!! i have the od3d pro and the cr1 pro the slot for the spar now comes pre cut.
