I got to fly Saturday, Sunday, and Monday!!

Flew the fiftieth flight on my Tiger Moth, lots of good flights on the Sky Scoter pro, a few on the Zero, and first flights on a Mini-Max and a Twin Max. The Twin Max is LOADS of fun. It flys like its on rails, and handles the wind about as well as a parkflyer could. Not very fast, really, but a real hoot to hear those two little engines going together!

looooooooeeeeeeee, is that 8 oz ready to fly??? If so, you've beat my Pup... how much wing area does she have? I put the GWS IPS on my Pup and it flies beautifully... slower than the moth. Perhaps an M100 would be a better choice if you still want gobs of power, but you can save some weight. A geared 280 will be able to virtually hover that thing

Is it still today? Oh, it's Monday?

This morning I flew the 'moth for one LI pack, about 25 minutes.

Then got out the CrazyMax, got in one good flight, changed batteries and about 5 minutes into the pack I was making my turn onto final for a inverted touch & go attempt and lost sight of the plane behind a couple of guys and got totally disoriented,almost caught it, not quite though and piled it in. The battery took out the front stick and I bent the propshaft. (my first )

After putting the CM back in the truck got out the Switchback and flew for one more pack. Did a bunch of touch and go's and near the end of the pack lost one of my wheel collars.

Could have done a field repair but the wind was kicking up so decided to call it a day while still ahead. CM crashes don't count!

Am currently installing a new gearbox using GoEFlight's idea of mounting a GWS EPS on the CM with half of the original motor mount.

She's gaining weight as the details add up, prolly 9oz. when done. ( I'm building the landing gear by modeling the full scale bungee and slot.) 270~sq. in. wing area. It is only R/E/T though, I didn't want to try for ailerons yet. The 280 is real easy on the electrons and at 7.2 v. it should go forever on a charge. Have you built the Wilkerson Nuiport yet, it looks great.

So far I've only built his Pup, but after the great success there it won't be the last of his designs I build. I've been eying up his Curtiss Hawk biplane... it's dead sexy! Yeah! Btw, the Pup is about 9.5 oz RTF, including the 7 cell 300 mah pack, and flying wing area is about 320 sq in.

The forecast for today was 10+ MPH winds. Since I did not want that to ruin my day off, I decided to take a risk and fly my 4.5oz flying wing. What a blast! I had no idea it would be able to cut though the wind at that low weight.

2mm foam wing (actually 1mmx2 foam sandwich)
1.5mm CF rods for leading edge
2mm CF rod for spar
Astroflight Firefly 4:1
GWS 4.5x4 prop

nolasco, is that your own design? Got plans or at least a layout drawing? What kind of foam?

Here is a rough sketch. Note that airfoil is formed by drooping 1.25" of the leading edge, 0.5" at the root and 0.25" at the tip.

cool, got it! That looks really simple! What kind of foam is it? Depron?

Flew from 4-8PM and flew the Miss 2 (4 times), the Tiggie (at least times), the Monocoupe (5 times) and the Curtiss F6C-3 Hawk 2 times before I broke her prop. Dead calm, clear skies and 72 degrees and long grass and a blacktop road to land on. Almost heaven here in Virginia.
