QFII / Quickflick-II 50" balsa built-up DLG, dihedral wing (all discussions)
![]() Hello everyone, a slight update here for the first page, since it's been a couple of years now. If you're wanting a built-up balsa DLG of 50" span, using the Drela AG36 wing section, then the QFII should fit the bill nicely. The QFII kits are now made and sold by Brian of MountainModels/Laser-Arts as well as PLDaniels/NQRC in Australia. The QuickFlick-II was originally designed to be a simple construction balsa built up DLG. After numerous prototypes the QuickFlick-II has finally lived up to that dream. The QFII is an Australian design, originating from inland North Queensland. The latest incarnation of the QuickFlick-II is the QFII-AG36D, with the Mark Drela AG36 airfoil and dihedral wingform. Kai,
Ooof, I really don't know - they are rather different in the design, but I'm sure if you hack around a bit it could well work, perhaps you can make some ground-breaking work here :-) The QFII has a 150mm (6") chord at the center, not sure how that compares to the gambler+. Paul. |

Cosrl,
I'm not /exactly/ sure what is included in the short - when Brian wakes up (phone him and get him out of bed - he's slept now for the last 7 hours *laugh*) he'll hopefully come in here and give the full details. Paul. |

Brian,
Many thanks for coming in so early in the morning - I hope that you managed to steal a cup of coffee. The shearwebs is a lovely touch, definately something which I'm sure a lot of people are going to be thankful for. There sure is a lot in that kit, though I think you left out the kitchen sink somewhere. Once again Brian, many thanks for doing this (and you too Cosrl, didn't realise you were also in on this whole situation). Paul. |

Okay guys, it's been added to the web site here:
http://www.laserarts.com/product_inf...roducts_id=202 I have also added a shopping list on the spec page for other materials you will need to complete the QF2. Paul, correct me if I have missed anything there. Brian |

I think you forgot the kitchen sink.
No, from what my weary 2am eyes can tell things are looking pretty good. I'll need to send you some better photos though, that much I must do. Tommorow, all going well, I'll have my altimeter and will be able to get some real figures on the QFII (weather permitting). It's funny, I was discussing with some of the guys on the IRC chat about what's in the short kit - and we were wondering "what possibly could be missing!", amazing how many things you forget. I should put a disclaimer on that photo you're using "LCD panels, clock and BOSE speakers are not included" :-P Paul. Paul. |
