Carbon fiber landing gear?
Does anyone know of a manufacture of carbon fiber landing gear? I really need some for my slow flyer. The landing gear on most slowflyers suck. If the carbon fiber ones don'e exist someone should make them. I think that it would benifit humanity.

You could do something like bond CF tape to balsa so that there is a bit of flex, but using CF rods doesn't seem to work well because it snaps easily. I've played a lot with this and finally went with music wire in my designs because it flexes rather than breaks. If you land too hard, you tweak the gear but then you just bend it back.
Light is right.

There was an article in the Feb. 2000 Model Airplane News magazine about making CF cloth landing gear for slow flyers. Maybe their website has the article published online, http://www.modelairplanenews.com
The Champion kit I just completed includes molded CF cloth gear. Nice and flexible but holds it's shape without bending.
