Need help with location of esc on brushless T-33

Should I put the speed controller behind the motor and have long wires on the battery side or put the esc up front next to the battery and have long wires on the motor side? I can't find a spot in between unless I put it in the ducting or on the outside of the fuselage. I am using a Fun 480-33 on 10 RC2400. Any advice would be appreciated.

Definitely toward the front. You want the shortest possible wires between the battery and controller. Mine is mounted directly under the elevator servo at the rear of the battery compartment. This did require a little foam carving. It has worked just fine for over three years.
