T-rex fuselage questions and answers.

Several people recently have been inquiring about Darth's fuselages that will fit the T-rex with the stretch boom kit or the XL that has the longer boom. Answer is The bell206 jet ranger is the only fuselage (I make) that will fit the longer boom kits. I will have to look into stretch kits for all the other fuselages and bodies. Id like to get some kinda idea or feel of how many people are flying the stretch kit and a bit more information I need is the measurement from the mainshaft to the tail rotor shaft. All the other fuselages/bodies should fit the standard boom and non stretched kits. This could be a major change so the more info i can get the more I can make an informed decission. Im looking for replies from those who entertain the thought of doing scale. So, help me out

No problem Ed. Hoped to be starting the Mi-24D Hind build this past weekend but a guy named Dennis got in the way. Still finishing a variant of HubDave's elevated T/R to support this fuselage.

Don't kow about trends Ed, but a larger rotor disc just makes sense to me, especially on a scale heli this size.

I would love to get a scale body for one of my T-rexs, is there many guys doing them?
What motor/lipo combo are you guys using in the Scale setups?

Align is slated to have their line of scale fuses in the next few months.

I agree stretch tail is the new trend. I would expect the V2 standard length kits to be phased out and replaced completely with XL series very soon. Plus if the fuse is made for XL tail, the rear section can be shortened by cutting and re-jointing for standard length tails. But it's more difficult to do the other way around.

Darthdrk hope to see some more of your fine work on T-Rex.

Seemingly the LMH Helicopter went through the same phases. For the most part, the tailbooms have to be remolded. Thats not quite as much work as making a whole new body. Seeing that most people like the Darth's line of bodies, I may as well go with the flow. I will be stretching the boom lengths of the H500, A109, and Hind D. The Jet Ranger is good to go. Also I have a couple more bodies on the way. True its easier to cut the boom down than to add to it. The only thing I see that may seem a little awkward is the H500 with a longer tail. Most scale bodies Ive seen of the H500 the tailboom is always out of scale, sometimes a third to 2 thirds out of scale. To make a true scale of the H500D for the T-rex the mainbody will just about be to big for the chassis. The 500D actually has a short tailboom. But, whos making rc helicopters with scale applications in mind anyway?...
