How to mount HS-55 servos to slowstick

The included brackets are way too large to mount HS-55's, how should I mount them?

Thanks

Slide 'em closer together and drill new holes.

Thnk I just notice there are other smaller predrilled holes for these smaller servos.

Hmmm. All of my SS's are a couple of years old. Maybe they updated the design in this area to accomodate the smaller servos. I had to drill mine.

I just took a 1" piece of balsa, the same size as the fuselage and glued it to the underside of the fuselage and put the servos on the left and right side, with double sided tape. After I bent my push rods, I noticed it was a bit off, so I removed the servo and put a new piece of tape and stuck it back on to better center the rudder. Butch

I use double sided tape and a couple drops of CA to hold them to the sides of the metal fuse.

It's been a while since I built a SS but if I remember correctly, the servo mounts have a big and small hole on each side. The small holes will work with the HS-55s but only if the servo mounts are slid on the fuselage tube so the small holes are facing each other.

I've used HS-55 servos on several SS without modifying the mounts.

There should be 3 sets of holes on the S.S. servo mounts. The ones that fit the smaller servos like HS-55's are very small and can be hard to see. If all else fails, just drill some new holes to fit.

you have to make sure that the mounts are on the tube correctly. if you look at the bracket, you'll notice that one side has a little more plastic on it (looks like a gusset for strength). these "gussets" face in opposite directions. one way to determine mounting direction is to mount a servo on the bracket before you slide it on the tube. mine came with the little holes so the everthing fit.
