Idea
RC groups world slope tour

This is an idea , maybe a dream , maybe someone has done it .
The folks on the slope forum seem a very friendly group & seem quite proud of a lot of their slope sites . If some one had the time & money I`m sure they could post here about doing a world trip & get fellow slopers from all over the world to introduce them to their local slopes . You could report back here on your progress , what country you`ll be at next & the best slopes & conditions & adventures you`ve found along the way . It would be a nice way to spend a holiday . Maybe you could even get a bit of sponsorship .

Lodgings in Sweden.

Anyone (including Anton L if he shuts up about ASW's) can have the use of our "visitor's flat" in Malmö, Sweden if they require a place to stay. It costs around 5USD a night.... perfect if you're on a shoe-string budget.

Having said that.... The sloping sites are not AWESOME.... but they are perfectly useable.

Spare 50" combat plane and TX available.....

an awesome idea!! I plan to visit north america (Minneapolis) oneday....

Slope Plane world tour

Maybe what clould be done is what the parkflyers did a while ago with a slowstick and that was to send a plane around the world, being photographed at each site it visits, and post some shots of it in a thread here.

I'm thinking we could do a similar thing with a sloper, someone flys it at their home site, passes it on, etc etc etc. All around the world. It could be signed before it went to the next flyer, eventually ending back where it came from. Maybe some simple easy to transport wing type planform

All we need is someone to start the ball rolling with a cheap EPP plane. Rules would be something like, fix any damage before it goes to the next place, MUST photgraph or some vid of it flying at the sites etc.

Wadda you reckon? I'd be in for sure. Beats paying for someone else to trip around the world flying the best sites!!

Cheers
Paul

P.S Dingo: If ever I win lotto, your plan is definately on my to do list! I haven't been any further than UNZUD for my holidays....

What a good idea.
I don’t mine donating a new combat wing with radio and I could make a timber box to ship it in. The only problem I can see is that the frequency may not be compatible with other countries.
I could cut one and have it ready in a week.

AH, didn't think of radio. Maybe it could be sent with just the plane, batts, servo but no RX, but designed to hold the common size ones people use? When it shows up, charge it fit your own RX and fly?

A small combat wing would be perfect, it would fly at more sites so more people could be in on it, and shipping would? be cheaper. Just guessing on the freight thing though.

That certainly sounds more budget-worthy than sending a person around the world (crate or no crate)

Count me in

Sounds like fun. The sloper will need to fold up into a relatively small box (say, 36" in length or less) to make shipping it cost-effective.

However, Bruce's idea about a World Slope Safari is certainly very attractive, if somewhat logistically challenging and expensive. Looks like the first stop will be Sweden. Must remember to shut up about ASWs (until I get there...).

Isn't it little Germany? Maybe our Prussian cousins like to visit.

I hear it has really mild winters
