I.F.O. mach 3

I bought this plane today. Before I start building I was wondering if there are any building tips. Also will HS-81s work for this plane? Whats the best battery?

thanks

Build it just as the instructions say... make sure to have accelerator. HS-81's are WAY to heavy, go with 55's or better yet, 50's.

Kingjamez,

Sure you aren't thinking of the mini IFO? My Mk3 can handle HS-81's. HS-50's would only work at lower speeds- there is a lot of elevon area. I tried comparable CS-10's and had slow response when flown outside.

SpyO07,
If you are using the speed-280 with Horst G.B. I like to use 9 or 10 280/300mAH NiMH cells. I have used AAA's and bigger cells, The IFO mk3 can handle a lot of weight, you trade vertical for duration.

one very important thing is, when you put the nylon tubeing on the trailing edge just before bending the bow around to glue it, do the following.
scotch tape the spacers to the trailing edge.
This way when the bow flys out of your hand, the spacers wont go flying all over the room.
I had to cut new pieces more than once.

Yep, I'm sure I'm not thinking of the Mini. Every ounce counts on the IFO. Sure it flies better than most airplanes when grossly heavy. But when kept ultra light it flies better than EVERY airplane....well it at least goes vertical and smiles.

Be aware that measurements given in the instructions DO NOT match the plans. Use the plans to cut your tubing, not the written instructions.
