You should have seen flying buddy G's sukhoi this past weekend... This foamie (Kit, I know, sacrilege) has a bad case of the flutter. Apparently this kit was somewhat expensive, but he found it on closeout somewhere. Looks great, and flies just beautiful, but it flutters so bad that I just knew it was going to come apart. Apparently gpw and G have tried different ideas to clear up the problem, but it just won't go away. Anywho, he continues to fly it on the edge and I thought for sure that it would meet its end sometime this past weekend... At one point, he came out of a maneuver and said something about 'if that don't kill it, then nothing will'. I told him to look closer... The battery was hanging out of the plane by the plug... few seconds later it ejected and bounced across the parking lot... The plane just settled down for a perfect 3 point landing. Long way of telling a short story, eh? oh well... You get the picture

Only problem is ejecting expensive lipos over nasty Rock runways ... Aargh !!!! Dents and holes make for short battery life ...
T 1 1/2 got its BP-21 and some Decor...should be ready this weekend ...if it's not too windy ... This plane was constructed out of single sheet FFF , no doublers. only skewers for reinforcement ... Light WEIGHT for its size ... airframe alone weighs 6 oz. with 500+ sq in wing area ... projected AUW will be around 12 -14oz.... w/o camera... !!!!!! Need calm winds for AP ... |

wait!!!! but but... no....... not fair...
![]() I'm sure you've got the skills to handle a little wind, it's only 10-20mph ![]() Well looks like the winds will behave enough for me this weekend on Sunday. 4mph sounds good enough for a shark maiden and maybe I'll have the frog done by then as well ![]() I'll do my best to convince my g/f or friend to get some video of the maiden flight for everyone. ![]() Maybe I can even throw some jaws theme music in |
