My Twinstar II piccies, wit custom decals I made on me PC, of the Emerald Airways scheme that flies from here in Liverpool to the Isle Of Man

Piccie of the real thing HERE

The kit builds together really well, only takes maybe 3-4 hours using Cyano and Kicker. Seems a lot nicer finished than the first one, moulded in doors and windows etc, plus a proper airfoil on the horizontal stabilizer instead of a slab of foam.

Gonna try and get a go later on as it's a bit windy here at the mo.

First two are out in the back garden. 3rd one is in the garage/utility room, behind which is my Twinjet and my Irvine 46 Powered Hangar 9 Cherokee.

Thanks Treetop. Using 7 cell 2000mah packs here, apparently its difficult to balance with an 8 cell pack from what I've been reading.

Thank you as well

There are a couple smaller cells that might work in the TSII in 8 cell config. Like the Sanyo FAUps and GP2200 4/5SCs, that can handle the amp draw. I finally found a site that cells Nicad here, that are reasonably priced, they are more expensive than most Nimhs now at most places.

I want to buy packs for my Twin Star one that I can use eventually in the TSII. So that is one reason I am so interested.

if anyone is curious-Nicad cells and packs at a reasonable price, although I have not done business with them:

And of course Cheap Battery Packs comes highly recommended, and they have the GP2200 packs:

Did some test flying today with my old Olympus C-2 onboard. As I didn't trust the friction fit, I added some strapping tape. Unfortunately I didn't consider the viewing angle of the camera.

The camera adds about 230g (incl. 2 AA Sanyo 2300mAh) and the model needs about 35g of lead at the tail. Still, absolutely no problem with the standard Permax 400 on just 7 cells.

I only managed one flight, as the left prop came off. Time to add some decent spinners. Too bad it wasn't the right one - would have made an interesting shot "Look Ma - no prop!"

Much lighter option: wireless videocam (30g) - great fun with Olympus Eye Trek.

Jurgen,
Does this combo fold nicely against the fuse?

This thing looks great and seems to perform very well on the stock setup. It looks as if it might make a good starting point for a stand off scale Grumman Goose. Could be as simple as adding some wing tip floats. Think it would ROW? Think it would float at all?
