I am thinking which model I will build next:

Mpx Twin Star II
Mpx Sonic Liner
FreeAir SU-27
FreeAir F-15
FreeAir F-16
Flymex F-16
Graupner Super Decathlon
Graupner Nemesis

or, shall I convert my Easy Glider Electric to brushless power first?

Jürgen

Started building my TS2 today. Instead of building the fuselage first, I started with the wing(s):

The Permax 400 comes with two internal capacitors installed. It won't harm to add a third one between the connectors.

With the wing complete, I started working on the fuselage. Here you can see the wing retainer nut plates installed in the right fuselage half:

Twin Star I weights for comparison

Quote:
Just weighed the components:

(Twin Star II)

Fuselage: 162.2g
Vertical stabilizer: 23.2g
Horizontal stabilizer: 40.5g
Left wing panel: 118.3g
Right wing panel: 118.4g
Wing joiner/control rods: 66.0g
Accessories: 41.7g

Jürgen

Perhaps somebody has the weights of the "old" Twin-Star (for comparison)?
Twin Star I:

Fuselage: 158g ----(with canopy)
Vertical stabilizer: 17g ---(w/ dorsal strake)
Horizontal stabilizer: 24g
Left wing panel: 112g
Right wing panel: 115g
Wood parts: 75g
control rods: 16g
accessories: 56g
-----
motors: (72g x 2) 144g
motor wires: 36g
props: (gunthers w/rubber hub 3g x 2) 6g

----
This is everything that came in the box, except the decals, no servos, y-connectors, etc.

As Multiplex recommends their Tiny-S (= HiTec HS-81), I would not use NARO Std for a model of that size. Why don't you use 4 NARO MAX BB? (I use HiTec HS-81 for the ailerons and GWS IQ140 BB (= NARO MAX BB) for rudder and elevator.

Updated weights:

Model without ESC, rx and flight battery: 845g

Due to the longer nose and the longer nacelles, even a very light (Lipo-)battery of just 160g would be enough to achieve the correct CofG. Some guys had trouble ballancing the old TwinStar with 7 cell Sub-C size!

With my old trusted 7/RC2000 pack (413g), and 60g for rx and ESC, my projected RTF weight is approx. 1318g - pretty much the same as my old Twin-Star and a lot less than the 1500g quoted by Multiplex.

It's a standard 7 cell Sub-C pack (Sanyo NiCd RC2000).

Don't forget that the servo bays are made for HiTec HS-81 servos (dimensions: 29.8/12/29.6 mm). The Naro Max BB comes pretty close at 27/12.7/24.95 mm.
