Tamiya TS-31 Bright Orange. The color goes on beautifully and has a gloss that looks like it was airbrushed. It makes this heli easier to see at the same time.

Looks good ! Is that the clear canopy or the off white one ?

I've been using the Taimya paint on my last 2 builds, TS-36 Fluorescent Red, TS-16 Yellow. I have some TS-12 Orange going on my next one. The finish comes out GREAT !

Anywhere really, this time happened to be the Hobby People store in Fountain Valley California.

I was just wondering if any large retai stores sell the paint or is /was it a LHS only type.

I ordered the skids from dreamhobbies for my CF frame / 450 XL. It does seem a little steep at $40 but they just look cool and from what I hear are very strong.

The thing to remember about the skids is that they remove one of the crumple zones that in my opinion are good to have. When (not if) the heli plows into mother earth all of the energy from the impact has to go somewhere. I have some rubber parts that I'm mounting between the skids and the frame to help so that the crash doesn't destroy the yellow frame. The skids have two strong impact crashes so far and haven't bent a micro-meter.

The pair I got needed to be cleaned up quite a bit. The edges were sharp and the surface was very uneven. 15 minutes with a dremel and some polishing discs fixed em right up but for 40 bucks they should have been polished. *shrugs*

Orange really is a good color for visibility.

I also painted mine orange, but used Krylon "Short Cuts" "Glow Orange".

Big mistake! I thought it was a gloss, but it's actually somewhat flat. I clear coated it with a gloss, but this didn't really help. Visibility is great, but It's not a nice gloss like I was hoping for.

So don't use Krylon "Short Cuts" "Glow Orange"!

I just used a new white fin set and cleaned the surface with good alcohol and applied the paint in two coats. The Tamiya paints do really well on most plastics.

you pick cool colors for your canopies...... that lime green this orange ( which looks to match the color of my car pretty well )

Your heli looks great. Tamiya spray paints so nice to work with; they spray and coat very well.

Nice looking heli, have never seen a boom mounted tail servo on the Treax yet. Does it help like it does on the other micros?
