How much does altitude affect flight?

I've only flown in Denver which has very thin air.. I'll be flying in Missouri next month and just want to get an idea what to expect. How much different is thick humid air than thin dry air at high altitude? Will I get more power? More control surface action? Better 3D performance?

Thiner air means that your prop moves less of it. So at a higher altitude, you should prop up, or expect a vast decrease in performance.
If you are going to fly at a lower altitude, then you'll have to prop down or run at higher amps.

Increased humidity has the same effect as increasing altitude. (Water vapour is less dense than air). Who knows, a really muggy day in Missouri might not be so different from Denver for performance. Tex.

True.. Maybe I should go fly the grand canyon, from the edge.

I always maintain a positive altitude.

Lake of the Ozarks. If I can find a field among the millions of trees. Otherwise I'll have to brave the lake and land on the dock. Hell, I might try that anyway.
