I use Azureus for my bittorrent client. It is listed with the de-centralized tracker. So that means only the people using The neweset version of Azureus will be able to download the file. People using any other bittorrent client will not be able to connect to the tracker.

Azureus client:

Sounds interesting - there doesn't seem to be any seeders/peers atm....& the tracker isn't showing any either - does it take some time for it to register properly or is there no seeder currently? (I use bittorrent quite often & know it's not a problem at my end).

EDIT: the above post came in as I posted....answers the question

Now then is that client available for Mac

Wow! 1500+ plans! That should keep me busy for a while. Thanks for the great file! I downloaded the Azureus program (and Java Runtime Environment) and have begun the download. I hope it finishes soon. For those who are interested, it is a big (589MB) file, but I'm sure its worth the wait.

Thanks again BOZman!

I actually have two seeds running. I doubled the upload speed of one of them. Guys, I've been seeding this file for a month now. I ask that you seed the file as long as you can. Set the upload speed lower, until you can leave it running in the backround, and still use the internet reasonably. Then it shouldn't matter if you leave it on 247 like I do...

Enjoy guys......

If you are behind a firewall or router, you will need to forward port 6881 to your PC. you will still connect "port 80", but your speeds will be ALOT slower.

Right now, the combined upload speed of the swarm is 270K a sec!!!!

Actually, both of my seeds are on the US west cost. TraceRoute's to you show that once the data is in Europe, there is serious packet loss. This has been a problem with this perticular torrent. Hopefully, somebody that has already downloaded the file from Europe will reseed it for you guys.

I'm seeding now - I can't seed 24/7, but I'll do my bit as & when I can - I'm churning out 20k/sec which should help nicely....now to unzip it & see what we have here

Jswjimmy, I think you have to use the Azureus bittorrent program to get the file.

sorry about that forgot to read through. well im not switching over for one file.

im downloading 11 big files and seeding 4 with bitcomet. and also some people are having trouble with azureus, they get banned from trackers because of the way it works.

quote from a tracker
"New Azureus has a feature known as decentralized tracking, which allows the client to function in the event the tracker dies. While this could be considered a good thing if you are hosting pirated Windows XP ISO on your DSL tracker, decentralized tracking enabled by default on healthy torrents with stable trackers only interferes with the tracker's ability to collect accurate statistics, as well as affects non-azureus running peers by not allowing the tracker to properly distribute pieces. All new torrents posted on this website (starting from May 5th 2005) will have a flag embedded to prevent decentralized tracking. Any attempts to circumvent this feature will result in your entire netblock being immediately BANNED. "

you can turn it off but then its just the same as any other client

if its legal you dont need decentralized tracking

Not true.

There has to be a tracker, period. Otherwise, you would have no way of getting the list of peers hosting the file. I've had my computer on 24/7 for a month now so this file would be available. I'm sick of being the tracker for this file. You want to leave your computer on 24/7 as the tracker for this file, then feel free to do me the favor. If it is listed with the de-centralized server, then I can give my comuters a break every once in a while.

Thanks anyway
