2nd Annual Arizona Electric Festival January 27-29 2006

Big Thanks to all that helped make the 1st Annual Arizona Electric Festival a success.

Now that the Ezone article of the 1st Event has been published I though I would start the thread for the 2nd Annual Event. The first event was a huge success and we are eagerly awaiting the next. We are getting a head start on plans for next year’s event so it will be bigger and better. We have set the dates of January 27-29 2006 at the same club (Arizona Model Aviators) and location. I have updated the web site and will be adding additional information as we get closer to the event.

We welcome any suggestions and comments.

I was reading through the May edition of Model Aviation and am happy to report our event received a nice little right up. It was tucked in the back under AMA news page 147.

We had our first official meeting and are starting to get the particulars worked out. We had 23 vendors and 126 registered pilots on site last year and hope to increase that by quite a bit. We do not charge the vendors any thing but a raffle donation so if your favorite vendor wasn’t on site last year encourage them to sign up. Having a ton of vendors means a huge, pilots only, raffle. Last year every pilot received at least one prize worth more then there entry fee, and a free meal. This year should be no different so come on out and enjoy Arizona’s great January weather.

As always your comments and suggestions are welcome.

Pat Tritle and I were there last year and enticed the folks from Dumas to visit. With their new product line they will also be repesented this year!

Word has it that at least a couple of the RSA gang will be there. We all had a great time attending this event last year and are looking forward to 2006.

If you are expecting more next year where is everyone going to set up? I thought things where rather tight this year. There doesn't seem to be much room to grow beyond the covered pavillion because of the bleachers.

We are working on the parking lot to expand it for the vendors and organizing under the ramada to create more room for pilots. Also if you have any suggestions please let me know.
Thanks,

Bob,

Tritle and I will locate in the vendor area, so another table will be free

If folks will bring their own awnings, the area down where the RV's were parked was a good spot to set up. Or, if the RV's were moved, then that could even be set up with a large awning to accomodate more fliers/vendors.

I agree, things were a bit crowded, but, it was worth it. Personally, I'd love to see more scale planes show up.

My wife really appreciated the Handicap parking since it was pretty easy to get around in her wheelchair from that point. This year I'll tell the wife to save my Christmas shopping for the event. Till then I'll come up with a plan of what to buy, there was so much last year, I think that I spent almost a $800, again, it was planed that way, so I didn't get in trouble. LOL

Someone hacked the http://www.arizonaelectricfestival.com website.

I'm assuming that's where you'd register and find out more information?
