Berg RX Rollout Progress?

Patrick,

How about another update on the progress on the new Berg RXs? I don't mind waiting if I know what I'm waiting for and the progress schedule.

Can you please comment on what will be different with the new Bergs?

Tom,

The design of the 4 channel is now complete, we are waiting for a minor change to software, and a couple of part feeders for our pick and place machines so we can go to full production. I'm estimating full production in 1 week, shipping in 2 weeks for the light version, and 3 weeks for the rugged version.

The design of the 7 channel is wrapping-up. I'll know more in about two weeks as to when (exactly) they will start shipping. I'm estimating 6 weeks right now.

Please be aware that these are estimates for shipping dates.

The changes are:

Software has been revised to allow faster relocks on signal loss, and faster lock at startup. Software has been revised to allow for failsafe operation on the four channel RX.

Hardware has been revised to allow for automated production. The 4 channel RX is now about 30% smaller than the original. The 7 channel is an all-new design, and is about 50% smaller than the Berg-6.

Yes!!!!

Do those percentages go for weight too, or just size?

I think the old ones did except when you had a HiTec synth in a Futaba radio.

Anyone know who has Bergs left? I'd like to buy one now.

The 14MZ works fine.. The 9Z has a bug that prevents the RX from locking on the signal (it looks like an illegal signal to the RX.)

50MHz Support . . . .

Considering that Berg has always supported those of us flying on 50MHz, I am assuming that Castle will also continue to support the 50MHz receivers? Or are we going to be left out in the cold, or for that matter, gouged (like FMA) by charging more for the same RX on a different band . . . .

??????

Why are there so many problems with the latest Bergs? I can't seem to find an answer.

I have on original Berg 5 that is not working but seems to be a compatiblilty problem with PCM. Where can I find info on what Tx's the Bergs old or new, will work with?

Is there anywhere I can get my microstamp inspected? I plugged it into the battery incorrectly (polarity reversed). Will this kill the receiver?

The Bergs are PPM receivers, and NOT PCM! PCM is proprietary to the mfg. of the system in use, and there are ZERO third party PCM receivers for any system! IE, your Berg does not work in PCM because it is not supposed to! It is a PPM receiver! Switch your TX to PPM and it should be fine.

I have done the same without damage to my receiver. That is the BEC plug was plugged in upside down. Turned it over and everything is OK.

I second TADAWSON. How about those of us that fly on the "Ham band"? Berg was good to us, will you be, or not?

Are we able to pre-order the receivers? I need to order one to replace my useless Electron 6.
