I donít have much experience or knowledge with gyros and their RC applications but if they can help eliminate roll effectively it could help.

Nice videos! thanks for sharing them. Never seen high alpha done so well. Im sure a gyro would help the Falcon but looks like i would need to add more control surfaces for it to be effective.

GORC:
You will not need to add (or add to) any control surfaces on the Falcon. The Flanker and Wild Hawk use that many control surfaces so they can do crazy high-alpha antics and aerobatics. If the control surfaces on your Falcon are large enough to fly the plane, you won't have issues. The gyro will just continually make minute inputs to keep the plane flying straight and level. However, bear in mind that a V-tail mixer will be required to use a gyro, as the gyro's inputs will need to be mixed (instead of only moving one surface or the other in an attempt to stabilize the plane). Gyros and V-tail mixers could be a powerful combination. Otherwise unflyable planforms would become doable: the LAAT/i gunship, Jedi Interceptor (Ep. III), and the I-7 Howlrunner come to mind.

I hope it works out for you.

Hello Clefspear,
Welcome to RC Groups. Thanks for the 2-view of the crusier. The one were still looking for is The Naboo Skiff below.

Yellow13,
I guess its time to invest in a new radio so i can start doing some mixing. The Futaba i use is 15 yrs old.

GO-RC:

If you use a V-Tail mixer (as you would have to with a gyro) you actually wouldn't need a fancy schmancy radio. But if you want a good inexpensive radio, try the Polk's Hobby Tracker III. I have one; it's a nice product. 99-model memory, 8 channels, mixes out the wazoo, expo, dual rates, and so on. However, it's on 72mHz, can be awkward to program, and is ugly. For $100, though, it's certainly a good value. It comes with an eight- or six- channel variable-frequency receiver and standard servo. I like mine-- and no, I'm not a paid sponsor.

I really should get into some of this Star Wars stuff again...
