The Yak scheme looks good. It should look good on just about any plane. It is one of my favorites because of the selection of colors, and the contrast of the top and bottom wings.

Thanks for the compliments. The setup of my extra is as follows:

Hacker A20-20L
Flightpower 1200 3 cell 20C Lipos
Hacker X30 ESC
10-4.7 prop
AUW 13.5 oz

This setup gives fantastic and effortless vertical, although I was a little wary of full throttle as my initial tests showed 20 amps static on a fully charged pack. In reality I was rarely above 1/2 throttle which allowed the first part of a knife edge loop to be performed. (I can't do the down bit!!!!)

On both flights I landed after 11 minutes so I don't know what the real duration is.

The colour scheme was quite simple with the original idea coming from the avatar of Ben-Rod. The blue and black is solartrim and the checks are a permenant felt tip pen. Sorry no paint!!

Hey guys, is the extra 330 wing the same as the diablo? It looks like the same plane with an extra 330 fuselage. I guess I could just print it out. I have been flying the diablo for about 6 months now. I built it with a G-Force wing and made the fuse 12mm instead of 6. The fuse is a hollowed 6mm core with 3mm skins laminated to it with gorilla glue just like the wing. My AUW is 14.5 oz. Would like to post pics but don't know how.

Darth...the Diablo has a different wing than the 330...if memory serves both the leading and trailing edges have a different rake and the ailerons are bigger on the 330. There is quite a bit of difference in the way they fly with the edge going to the Extra. The 330's roll rate is more axial and faster and the 330 seems to do roliing harriers more easily but bot are at the top of the scale in my book..I like them both..a lot.
On attaching a pic before you hit submit keep scrolling down until you see a manage attachments bar..click on it and browse your hard drive for the pics you want to add..hit upload and wait for the confirm window..then hit submit...and you're done.

I really would like to see a pic of the plane, sounds neat. Yea what Boss said. The 330 does have a faster roll rate, but both are good planes.

I have never used that motor but it should work as long as you keep it as lite as possible..

It depends on the AUW of the plane mostly but has a lot to do with props and age of the 1000 lipoly. I sometimes use a 2s 860 and a larger prop when it calm wind and I can pull from hover but just..can easily fly around doing rolls and K/E and junk like that. So I am willing to bet the 2209 will do the trick. A buddy of mine used the Axi 2208 in almost all his 12-13oz. size/style planes with very god results..actually it surprised me at how well it did. So go ahead and stick the motor on it and find out... Just don't get carried away with the hot glue and paint....

That motor and battery should be fine if you can keep it 12 oz or under. Lots of guys in this thread have tried mixing the 6mm with the 3mm and were not happy. I would use 6mm all around. Good luck!!!

Ok, this has been my ride for the last 6 months, an almost crash proof Diablo from 3D Batix. The fuse is 12mm. It has a hollowed 6mm core with 3mm skins laminated to it with Probond. The wing is laminated in the same way. It's just like the original G-Force wing from 3D Foamy. Laminating the plane in this fashion adds great strength. I got tired of the depron always snapping everytime I hit the ground. I also moved the battery to the top of the plane over the center of gravity. The weight of the battery would always rip the fuselage apart when I crashed. I fly outdoors with lots of wind so a durable plane has been a must for me. The plane came out at 14.5 oz. a little heavier than I wanted but It still flys great. I have a razor microheli V2, gws "D" box, swinging a 12x6 prop and 1320 3s thunderpowers. I am currently working on the extra 330 plane with the edge 540 mod and a 39" wingspan.
