I forget what GeneBond said (he's my motor GURU ) but I think that's about all you can use with the 3c, cause the amp draw should be kept under 5A ...and not stay WOT all the time ... which is hard to do cause' you're having so much FUN ...Now I gotta try that on mine .... hahahaha

Mutation Alert: The recent models involving mid and pusher motors( especially the BA ) and the motor in the slot thingie' has led to a new version of a well used flyer .... FB BOB put the BP 12 on his ALBE and it was a rocket , but expressed concerns of his expensive brushless on the nose , where all the action happens .... so now we have the 3D ALBATROSS PUSHER #9X.... motor in a safer spot ...Strange alien/shark looking ... Weird!!!!

Hey gpw, you aught to edit your first post to include a link to the first thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=339432

You can copy and paste (removing the quote marks):

Edit: OK, I have scaled the originals to 80% and 120% for experimental purposes. I can't edit the post back on the first thread, so I will upload all 3 versions here. Note that on the scaled versions, the slots will not be the right thickness, so manually edit these before you cut too wide or narrow of a slot.

Staying off WOT all the time is the hard part. She does such nice axial rolls at WOT and loops that have her chasing her tail. I haven't slowed down enough to try harrier yet but it will come soon enough. I did discover one thing the JSW does better. If you slow the JSW down, chop the throttle, and give full up elevator, it falls ever so gently like a leaf. My BA just sort of falls. Different beasts but both loads of fun. I'm working on getting my GB CDRom fixed so I can go 3S with it and really rip the wings off my BA. Of course, if I rip the wings off, what will be left?

on with the comparison....

Why do you think the JSW had a blunt nose?

It can take it in the kisser and go again without additional tape

But, it is kinda like comparing apples and oysters...

DCM-189, 3030, 2s = ~7a
3s=??? 10a ???

I don't know, but I just started running 3sET1200 on my worn out G4046 with a 3030 on the MiniSpeedWing Clone. Not hot, but warm... Not full throttle continuous, but 40-50mph fast passes

I say you should not run lipo 3's on the G4046 as it will burn up fast. The DCM189 can hold up better. Here is some info on the two types of J-250's.

J250 DD 20500 [G4046]

3030 7.4V 8amps 4.1oz thrust
4025 7.4V 9amps 4.7oz thrust
4040 7.4V 9amps 4.2oz thrust
4540 7.4V 10amps 5.8oz thrust
5043 7.4V 11amps 6.1oz thrust

J250 DD 20519 [DCM-189]

3030 7.4V 5amps 4.1oz thrust
4025 7.4V 6amps 5.7oz thrust
4040 7.4V 8amps 5oz thrust
4540 7.4V 9amps 6.4oz thrust
5043 7.4V 10amps 7oz thrust

I really don't need the leaf as it means I just have to really land the BA rather than dropping it at my feet. I love both the JSW and BA but I'm curently enamored with the BA. I would be willing to bet that with a JSW and my current skill level, I'd be having just as much fun. I need more airbourne electronics so I can have more than a choice of just two plans to fly. I really need to invest in more 3S LIPOs. As a side note, I should have my GB CDRom back up and running very soon and it is awsume on 3S.
