Thanks for the sympathy Kirk.

It wasn't much of a flight, just a bad launch immediately followed by a lot of fiberglass splintering. Does the wind kind of swirl along the lip there? It was weird, in that split second where the plane left my hand I knew it was going in. Seemed like there was a gust from 90 degrees to my left that picked up the left wing. By the time I got my hand back on the transmitter, it was hauling a** straight into the retaining wall.

Oh well, got me out of there and back through LA before traffic got bad

Some days of flying are just like that. I've been flying about a year, been down to Fermin twice and never launched -- too hectic. White Point is more my speed.

Yeah, it was empty when I was there. I would have wondered if I had the right place if it weren't for all of the Fermin videos I've drooled over. I don't know if I'd have the huevos to throw out in a crowd there. Judging from the outcome, good thing I didn't.
ITL, sorry I missed you. I was there from about 1:30-2:00, I think. Only saw one flyer show up and fly a wing for about 5 minutes while I was putting my plane together.

Sounds like the lift wasn't too happening and you got rotorized? On a good day I often get a 10mph+ wind at my back from that dang rotor. It's pretty gnarly. Best policy on launch seems to be to dive, dive, dive to the right till you pick up speed, then pull up into a pump and start working on getting on step. But I'm not a pro!

Sorry about the Miraj, it's a nice plane. I'm sure it can fly again!

No sweat Curt, I'm just sorry you crunched your plane.
