Need input regarding twin edf300 design project

Hi all. Im cooking up a design for twin edf 300 power. I want it to be similar to a hotliner aerobatic glider. Im wondering how much weight can a pair of these fans carry. The plane will be hand launched, and should be able to loop from level if this is possible. I plan on using standard spd 300 motors, and an 8x600ae nicad pack to power both fans. I think I can keep weight down around 18 ounces. Also,, what kind of wing loading should I shoot for to be sure the model is fast like a df should be, and yet be no problem to hand launch? Thanks!

EDF 300

I'm using a WeMoTec 300 fan in a EJF Minx. It has a flying weight of 18 oz. I'm using a 280 BB on 10 600 AE. No problem looping from level flight. This plane flies very well. Good luck with your project.

surprizing performance

Bob, thanks for the info. It sounds like the little edf 300 is much more powerful than I expected. I would have never guessed that a single edf 300 would support 18 oz of flying weight and be able to loop from level. This broadens my limits a bit. I am pretty sure 18 oz is doable with twin fans and a single pack of 8x600ae, but I may just go a bit bigger, and use slightly larger cells now. I think twin edf 300 may have been pushing those 600ae a bit hard anyway.

I would also have never thought this would work. I'm glad to hear different, however. Bob, how many amps does it pull?

AMPs

The Minx is pulling 9 AMPs fresh off the charger.

The speed 300's draw a lot of current, a twin setup may be a bit much for 600ae's. I would plan to use 1300cp cells think that would add about 5oz over a 600ae pack using 8 cells.
