The title and abstract look interesting, but I would assume that this is a scientific level book (which is not an evil thing in itself, but is hard to understand without the proper background). The publisher (Springer) is a hint for this also. Furthermore, I would not be surprised if there is not a single *working* microplane descripted.
As a test, read my motor constants article here. If you have difficulties to follow the formulae and their derivations, then the book might give you troubles also. If it does not frighten you off, then perhaps you should get the book and tell us how you like it!
