It would be very good to do a blimp business. I would love it but I'm doing other things right now and in any case I'm in Australia.

But if you are going to the USA, then the blimp business should be larger but might be more competitive.

Manufacturing blimps - both in completed form and kit form, making the electronics, supplying motors and other components and indeed supplying materials like nylon and mylar could be the best way to do the blimp business.

Flying blimps will be time consuming, but probably necessary to develop your business image.

Making and supplying blimps and materials means to insert at the wholesale level, while flying blimps is a service. You could do both, nothing stops you from doing that, but I personally think most money is in the wholesale supply of blimps, materials and electronics.

I suppose the ultimate blimp is an airship carrying a colored, moving image on it's side but development costs would be very high. I've been looking out for cheap materials for this very thing, but there's nothing around - yet. Although it is being done but just now it costs a lot of money.

Another aspect of where there might be money is in building a purpose-specific blimp for law enforcement use. It's a lot cheaper than a helicopter and can be flown with only a relatively small amount of instruction. Search and rescue, traffic surveillance and other policing uses could be profitable. It's a matter of persauding the police to buy the blimp.

I really like the blimp business and can see quite a few opportunities.

Where in the USA do you plan to go?

Robert.

Well Nixie...
If I canot find something in the continental USA... I will go to stay in the same state where my Kids (grown ups) are living... as a matter of fact very close to you...
In Hawaii ... the Island of Maui...
Only there I doubt if Blimping will ever be a good business... people only stay outdoors...

Even if you are in Hawaii you can still be in the blimp business.

You could make kits and sell them anywhere. Or just focus on making and selling gondolas with motors and electronics. Make them in several sizes so anyone can fit the right size gondola to their blimp.

Hawaii is nice. I've been there once and love it there.

Hi Dujo... very good events...and nice pics...
As far as wind interference there is nothing you can do other than operate a bigger Blimp in windy indoor areas...

Smaller blimps are very much afected by lite winds...

I do not use MSN (because of the virus spread in Brazil)...

Regards Guga...

Hi guga and everyone...our blimp is 2.5m long and 1.5m diameter.....its made out of PVC film, cal. 4....if we made it out of poliuretane film, this will improve the performance of the blimp? And by the way, in our country Colombia its pretty hard to find the PU film, were can i import it? Maybe in Brazil Guga? Were neighbors ...ok, any comments welcome and thanxs

Cool pics. I gotta say Marcus, you seem to have the most fun with these airships. You're a beacon of hope for the rest of us!

Wow, just checking out these airships makes me smile ^^ I hope to post pics of my own micro blimp. specs: three channel blimp with rotating vectoring thrust and full control. blimp bag is a 2 ft diameter ball. *made from a hoverball with the plastic rings removed that sort of gave it its shape. *not really though* Hope to see more airships like that from you, Guga. Also, how much would a 3 ft micro blimp envelope with 4 gores cost? *made from mylar?*
