hi Raejus,
Business is slow everywhere...Worlds Economy I guess) it´s been 4 months without any event,
I´m in Brazil trying to get some retiring money from the government here since I paid Social Security for more than 28 years.

I sold one of my houses, and bought one in Maui ( my son lives in it), trying to sell the other one here in São Paulo.
But realy I´m not in a rush to do it, since I´m staying in it.
I´m only going to sell it when I get the retirement money here in Brazil.

Marcus

I can't let you have all the fun this season. I've been holding back on this ship until today when the design finally came to first flight. Picked up another gig for season with Dallas Cowboys. Airship is 30 foot vehicle powered by Contra-rotating Hymax motors turning two 13/10 props in each nacelle. Airship carries 4 pack of 3/8000 LiPo batteries giving over an hour and half of flight time. Tail rotor is E-Flite 15 swinging a couple 11/5 props. Full aerodynamic controls as well. Motors only flying at half voltage and can go to six cells if needed. Photos taken from little hexcopter this afternoon. This season it looks like I will have crews working in Dallas, Arlington, Waco, Cedar Park and Austin Texas flying lighter than air for various Hockey, Football, and Basketball events. Doing a few small shows and events in Texas as well. Last season my flight crews managed 351 scheduled sorties without incident so I could not ask for better crew dogs. I don't get rich but it keeps me in toys. ed

Interesting time-lapse of build up. Not as sharp as it should be but you can see the overall process of assembly.

Timelapse of Building the Cowboys Airship (1 min 12 sec)

Airship was created by Mobile Airships of Canada. Basically built to a set of specifications I had created based off of many hours flying for hire over the years. I have learned what works without getiing fancy. Keeping everything following the KISS principle of engineering. Dan and Amelia worked very closely with me on the developement. We can do better with some lessons learned. I presently have three of their vehicle working. Good folks. The first commerical airship I flew was a 16 foot Mobile airship that had been retrofitted control wise by Galaxy (i.e., Tony White) for the Ft Worth Brahmas. The flight controls were quite a bit different than most and it flew more like an aircraft and did not use any reverse of the motors. Cups just swiveled back past 120 degrees which would stop the forward motion of the vehicle and back it up without having to shift gears and put it in reverse. Natural for a pilot to pull hard and hit throttle if he was in trouble. Tail rotor was on the right hand with the pitch control of the cups again more natural for a mode 2 pilot. Coupon release on the same stick as the throttle. Everything was just easy to fly at least for me. I've followed this configuration from the start and I appreciated the Galaxy set up from the get go. All my vehicles are set up that way so the crewdogs have no problems flying any of a number of airships scheduled.

I spent the day at the Cowboy Stadium doing additional test flights in ballast then added the large transmitter for the 1080I camera we are carrying the season. I also got to meet with the sponsors of the ship this season to discuss the sortie schedule, coupon release etc. basically just a dog and pony show. I hope to have additional footage of the vehicle in a day or two. The contract for the next three seasons have been signed so I know where the various crews will be spending their time for a while. For this event normal crew size will be four with 2 hostlers on the floor with the pilot and camera operator in the camera booth on the third level at the 50 yard line. We get paid (well) have chairs on the best spot on the field, paid dinner, and rock star parking (main field garage). Its so damn funny about all I can do is set over in the corner of the shop and laugh. They are paying us to play with a big toy balloon!!

Received a link to U-Tube for the initial test flights of Rowdy Airship. The video is a combination of two days testing. Vehicle carried three cameras including and FPV setup for the pilot. Mondays test will be with a full blown broadcast video system to test the interface with the large Jumbotron at the stadium.

Rowdy Airship Testing (6 min 19 sec)
