rare earth magnet source?
Hi gang!
I am looking for some 0.2" dia. rare earth magnets, and have looked everywhere I can think of locally (BC, Canada) including all our radio shacks, walmart, "learning link" science store, london drugs. Nada. Nothing. Does anyone have any ideas where I might find some? Thanks! |

I got some from these guys. Prices seemed OK and I received them pretty quickly...

Radio Shack in Canada doesn't carry the rare earth magnets. I bought mine from http://www.leevalley.com/hardware/page.asp?page=40071 There are stores in Vancouver and Calgary if you don't want to do mail order. The cups they sell really increase the strength and make it easy to attach them to a model. Assume .25" is close enough.
If you tear apart some scrap computer floppy drives, there are small magnets inside but usually rectangular. Rick. |
