I flew at Canyon Glen up Provo Canyon. Not a place for the meek. There were big tall trees with fingers reaching out to grab my plane. The river was so high if my plane would have gone in the river it would have been lost. The wind was swirling and blowing in every direction. The landing approach was hard because you had to clear the trees in the wind but still get the plane on the ground before you hit the trees on the other side. Tons of fun. Flew out 3 batteries. Score ---Lee 3, trees 0, river 0
Flew today with Kevin, Darren, and Jared. Storm was building up to a gale. Started to rain. A couple of guys came over to see what we were doing and the wind was hard straight from the east. After a couple of failed launch attempts due to the hard wind I launched straight at Todd's office. Nearly paid him a visit. Missed the building by inches. Wow what a wind. The air was incredibly turbulent. Fun, Fun, Fun. Score --- Lee 2, building 0, ground 7+. ![]() Planning on flying Saturday if weather permits at PGJH at 10:30. Lee

I flew a Glen Canyon too. First launch, didn't clear the trees, Second launch cleared the trees but had a real pain controlling it, thought it was the swirling wind. I hit the top of a tree and dropped my plane 8 feet from the river. Third flight, 9.6v batteries instead of 7.4v. Cleared the trees OK but had radio interference so the receiver lost the radio signal. Only time I have ever had this. My motor shut off 4 or 5 times telling me there was no radio contact. So I landed and lived to fly in the wind, rain, and lightening with Lee, Darren, and Jared USS. Isn't this a great hobby!!!!!!!
Oh, by the way I have been flying without my Millinial Falcon gunners chair. I just have to be carefull not to go higher that my head and eyes can rotate. I lost a lot of rotation with this surgery. Still Flyin Kevin |

I flew today at PG. Rain started slacking off at 10:30. Flew by myself for an hour then called it quits. Flew my two WW's and a new epp foam mini-3d plane with a kit built cdrom motor. Fortunately for that plane, not much wind. Now I'll be looking forward to Wednesday again.

I flew saturday up around Highland/Alpine... I think i spent more time driving around looking for a spot to fly then actually flying.. I should have just gone back to SL County.

Wow. Beautiful shot. Is that 100% real, or your plane with a nice background placed behind it? Either way, great shot.

Hello From Arizona!
My familly and I will be making our anual summe run to the grandparents house in Provo. Thy live on 800E 600N/S [by the canyon entrance]. I have seen several people flying on 800E and a bit north of their home. I already told my wife that if we have to stay 2 weeks, that I get to bring a plane or 2 with me. that way I can fly while she goes tothe mall for 6 hours! What time is a good time to come fly and were is a safe location. I fly by myself here due to work and familly life getting in the way of my hobby. Hope to see ya'll soon! |
