I am planning on flying Wednesday at 2:30, or 3:00 if everyone else will be there then.

Kevin,

I've got an old Millenium Falcon parked in my backyard. You can come over and pull the gunner's seat out if you want.

I need to fly earlier if I'm going to make it. I had something come up later in the afternoon. I can fly from 2-3ish unless something else goes haywire.

I think we should plan on Burgess for this Saturday. There are many adjoining areas. We can start behind the Jr High where we flew last summer. I'll plan to get there early and find an open spot. The park has large areas, the Jr High is next door, and around the corner there is an elementary next to an open field.

I don't think Baseball has started yet, and the JR high was open last year until fall football (and soccer later).

I'll post directions tomorrow.

Darren

Jeff

Was that a Millenium Falcon or a Ford Falcon with the gunner's seat?

I'll try to be there at 2.

We are getting close to the last call for wings. I hope to be ordering foam soon.

On looking closer, it does look more like a Ford Falcon. Instead of parked it's on blocks, and it might be the passenger seat and not the gunner's chair.

You guys are sure making it difficult for Kevin. How about a banana chair ? Or a wheel barrow ?

I started it. I think I will try my banana chair on a 4 wheel castered dolly today. I think if I am on the pavement I can get my turning and my rocking all in. I just hope I don't fall off my rocker.

Is anyone flying Thursday or Friday?

Kevin (the stiff necked one) Jeff and I went flying today. It rained, it hailed, the sun was out and that is all in the first 20 minutes. It was the lightning that finally chased us off. Lots of fun. Still flew out 7 lipos. We are all drying out out planes and radios now.

It was too wet for Kevin to try his new gunner chair but he did make one.

Wind, Hail, Rain, Sleet, nor Snow can stop us, but lightning did get us to quit. Darren also flew with us long enough to break a servo. I'll be out of town for a week. I'm putting a WW in a suitcase. I hope to fly it in Kansas a couple of times.

I'm going to be in Boise Thurs and Fri.

I did sneak over durning lunch when I saw the weather coming in and sneaked in a Sniper flight. Any day with a Sniper flight is a good day!

On Wednesday I was having fun doing low fly-bys with the 28" Wild Wing in the rain. I was running a Razor 400 brushless full throttle. I was doing loops with a snap on top and then a low close pass. I occassonally would finish it off with a full throttle on the deck barrel roll then climb out.

Everything went well through the sixth battery but on the seventh the gremlins bit. As I came out of the barrel roll on the deck I hit a 4 1/2 foot fence post at 60-70 mph so square that the plane stopped instantly and seemed to sit on top of the post. I thought the post had punctured the foam wing and was holding the plane in position but when I got there the plane was intact. The post is one of the wood ceder posts holding up the barbed wire next to the corn field to the south.

As a testimony to the Wild Wing and my battery mounting (for which I have been teased) the only damage to the plane was a broken control horn. I didn't even break the prop. The E-tech 1250 lipo was ejected about 15 feet into the corn field which now has a new layer of smelly wet manure. The end of the battery was bent but it survived. Total repair time for plane and battery was less than 15 minutes.

I sure love EPP and pusher configuration. My only regret is we didn't get it on video. The impact was better than I can describe. For you enviro-conscious lurkers in the audience, no fence posts were injured in the making of this story.

My boys and I will be going to Burgess in Alpine on Saturday for combat and flying at 10:30 AM.

Lee
