Gymflyer, Lightstick, Pico Cub- Which one?
Today I was flying my Amptique at a soccer field. I was mostly motoring up and then gliding around. That way I got about 10 minutes of flight.
When I was landing, the plane kind of tried to score a goal and missed. The soccer goal post pretty much sheared off the wing right next to the fuse. Anyway, my question is: What park/slow flyer can glide well and manuever in smaller spaces. The Lightstick seems popular but how well can it glide. It looks a bit draggy to me. Jesse |

The LiteStik is very draggy; that's how it is able to fly as slowly as it does. It glides but not very well. You may want to check out Doug's DuskStik. It uses the same equipment as the Lite- and PicoStiks but is much sturdier and has better flight characteristics. Mine is in the mail on it's way to me now and I'll be posting a review as soon as I get it together. You can see it at http://www.duskstik.com .

I vote for the DuskStik also. Heck, the manual alone is a work of art. 18 pages with construction photographs. The plane flies great and is very durable. It glides and thermals much better than a lite-stik.

I have the Lite Stik and the SlimGym280. There is no comparison on gliding. The LS drops like the space shuttle on dead stick and the SG280 glides forever. Ask Bleriot.

Just thought I would add a word on the Pico Cub. It thermals and glides well and is a fun little plane to fly. Being much larger then the stick it can be taken much higher. Most pilots in out area are using the geared version with a larger prop for increased climb and longer flights. One expert pilot in our club said if you took it awau from him he would have to buy another. he seldom sticks with a plane long and that is high praise from him. Mike
