Advice on best bang 4 my buck

So many batteries too little cash to try them all. I'm looking for a good battery for my Corona heli. I'm not afraid to spend a fair amount of money but there's a point of diminishing returns. I've been using gp3300 and its doing well. Tried gp3700 and their not doing well at all, not that old and their not taking 3700 anymore. Their not doing nearly as well as the gp3300 and 2600 pack that I have. I'd like to try some of the Battle Pack brand but I'm afraid they won't last. How are the SC3300, BP3500 and BP3400Ultra's? There's one thing that I need .......long lasting. Any advice?

Thanks alot, John P.

Why not try some lipo's.
You could probably put a 3s3p pack in your Heli for the weight of those GP's

Then you could fly for 25-30 minutes on a single pack.

Highflier, Thanks for your help but I'm worried about cost, the possible shorter life of lipo's, they easily damage........I'm a begginer, the lighter weight....using a heavier battery helps me with stability and the possibility of fire. So I think I'm better off with NIMH.

Thanks, John

I've been very happy with my BattlePack 3300's. I'm using them in a JKA Big-T, pulling 28 amps at full throttle, but my flight times average 15 minutes so I'm not really pushing them. About a dozen cycles so far and they take in 3300+ Mah each charge.

I hear you on the cost and life of Lipo's but I have to say
MAH of lipos is getting close to MAH of NMHI.
I have had good luck with Lipo life. I never push them to spec. I try to set my power systems up that WOT = Maximum sustaned C rating. Forget that Burst thing cause then you are flying at close to the Max C most of the time.
As for the Weight. I just add more lipo and take the flight time as a plus.

But I 100% agree with you that you should stay NMHI for safty since you are still learning.
