First foamboard scratch build help

OK I got myself a 280 with a 4:1 geardrive and I want to build a plane like a litestick FD and I have some foamboard from the craft store but I have no idea what size to make the wings, With a 280 would anyone be able to help on this. This is my first attempt at building anything like this and all my planes have been in the S400 class and fast so I would like to make something to have those 5-10 mph pilon races with in a smaller area. Thanx for any help.

I am flying a Blu Stick right now and it is a 24" wing using the IPS DX-A drive. The MiniMax flies real well with a gear driven 280 and is closer to 40 " wingspan. I would think 36" would be a good start for that size wing, maybe go with a little more chord to get some good wing area. One thing about it... if you make the wingspan long to start with you can just start pruning it back (clipping it's wings) after some test flights. Thats the great thing about the Blu Cor foam... fly, cut, fly, glue... and if you really trash it then just build a new one!
