Mr lin has stated that:-

"The normal production will arrive almost 2 months later after EB received pre-production Formosa-II sample."

I expect my Early Bird Formosa II to arrive here today or tomorrow so this means that the 1 December will be the date you can walk into your LHS to collect your Formosa II.

As much as I Love my GWS FORMOSA, I have decided to wait until the "new" FORMOSA-II gets placed on Local Hobby Store Shelves....

Here's the E-mail from GWS.....
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Early Bird Member,

After the release of Formosa, flyers have been longing to fly Formosa II. Soon we will release a limited edition of Formosa II for “highly experienced flyers” and only for “advanced pilot”.

GWS Formosa II is the airplane for the show with the aerodynamic appearance, wider aileron, rudder and elevator. Flyers can fly it against the wind & feel the thrill. It is very stable since the size of the airplane is big.

The Formosa II will be released is the Slope Glider version. It comes without landing gear and without the power system. GWS is ready to take orders now for FORMOAS II SG (GWAEO002). We are expecting to ship it out in a couple of months. Please use the new item number when you place your order to GWS.

Item Number: GWAEO002

l Limited Quantity --- Only for highly experienced flyers

l Slope Glider Version: Without Landing Gear & Power System

l Plain white without paint

l Aerodynamic

l Without Decal

l Length 43.3 in./Wind span 42.5 in./Wind Area 369 sq. in.

Kindly refer to the following quotation.

Formosa II SG x 1 set --------------------USD90.00.- (including shipping cost to USA)

Delivery will be around on the end of September.

We welcome you to contact us. We will try to keep you updated about GWS product and information. If you are interested in this new product, please contact me via email : Maggie@gws.com.tw.

This is what I have to put up with on every US kit that is not available in my LHS. The postage cost from the USA is more than the cost of the kit.

But in the case of the Formosa II the EMS postage from Taiwan only raises the cost of the kit to the same US$76 as in my LHS. An unpainted GWS Warbird cost US$80 in my LHS.

GWS outrunner BL motor 300BL and 450BL come on your LHS

By the time GWS outrunner BL motor 300BL and 450BL come on your LHS at early 2006, those BL motors should be even perform better for all the GWS WW-IIs with extra thrust!

We expect to sell our 300BL motor for $15. That may give you 500~700g thrust.

450BL go for $20, that may give you 700~1000g thrust.

So, all the GWS WW-IIs will be very 3D with some modifications.

$68 for come with EPSD350C power system for 3 cells Li-po at about 1.2kg thrust.

$80 for come with EPS400BL power system for 4 cells Li-po at about 1.6Kg thrust.

$85 for come with EPS480BL power system for 4 cells Li-po at about 2+Kg thrust.

Mr. Lin.....

Can you PLEASE give us an estimate on when we (USA) can expect the FORMOSA-II????

I have been asking my Local Hobby Stores in Central Florida and they have given up and now they tell me "NEVER!"

They (we) are tired of waiting.....and Early Bird is not an option for me.

Thanks,
Carlos

you'd better booking Formosa-II at your LHS ASAP before they all booked.

But since the limited qty for this first lot of massive production, you'd better booking Formosa-II at your LHS ASAP before they all booked.

We are moving Formosa-II toolings to China, after this production finished.
