Pats Brakes cable layout?

Does anyone have the cables set up with the steering servo in the lower position (pic, diagram)? I can't seem to set the brake cables up correctly. Do I need to put the steering servo in the upper position?

Also I pulled the brake wire out from the cable and it will not go back in. Is the a trick to get the wire in?

Lorenzo has a very good section on installing Pat's brakes on his website, which also shows the servo setup and connections. I don't think it has anything about how to thread a cable back together.

Ya, I took a look there but the diagram shows the servo in the top position. I was wondering if anyone has it with the steering servo in the lower position like mine.

That set up also has the steering servo in the top postion. I was trying to avoid swapping mine around. Is that the only way to set it up?

The cables may get a kink on the end, if you trim them they should fit back in smoothly. As for the cable brackets, there made assuming you use the top servo as the brake/throttle servo, as they mount directly on the servo ears.

There's nothing stopping you from using the lower servo as your brake/throttle, but you have to mount the bracket off the frame instead of the servo, coz the cables will foul on the frame spacers.

I actually have a few brackets that were cut by mistake, that actually suit the use of the lower servo. If you're happy to wait, I can drop one in the mail for you. Just let me know.

Why dont you just switch positions of the servos? The steering works fine using the top servo.

Pat, if I can't get it to work the way hercdriver7777 has it then I will PM ya about the other brackets if you don't mind.

I can switch the servos but I was trying to get away with less work.

OK, uncle. I give up. I've tried the servo in both top and bottom positions none of which work. Each time I try to set it up something does not line up or fit. Does anyone really have this kit on a nitro NF? Many of the pics I have seen are on an electric which has one less arm (throttle) to connect. Or they do not have the steering damper on. I would really love to see this kit on a nitro NF. If you have have it on a nitro NF what alterations did you have to do to get this kit to work? Am I really this dumm?(don't answer that) Did I get the wrong kit?

I just noticed what was different between mine and hercdriver7777's bike. The throttle servo was reveresed on mine. I needed to open it up and move the servo cable so it would fit back in the bracket. Now mine looks just like hercdriver7777. It lookes like I may need to shorten the front right cable though to get it to work. Going back in........
