It was the fruit bats in the botanical gardens that amazed me. Those things are HUGE!

Who's fruit-bats? Yours, or ours?

Our (Melbourne) Botanical Gardens has them in plague proportions - they go nuts over the Moreton Bay figs.

The evening sky eerily goes almost jet-black when thousands upon thousands of them come in to feed - yet they don't seem to make a sound as they cruise on by...

Yours - when I was down there a few years ago. I would take a walk around the park from the Marriott and I remember the huge flocks of them taking to the skies after the sun set..

Flew a couple of packs through the Siren again this weekend.

Getting a bit bored with the 13x6 prop now - might toss the 14x9 back on again.

I feel the need - the need for a KiloWatt

If the smoke-Genie comes out, so be it.

Did dial in a heap more 'spoileron' + down elevator compensation, and it seemed to do ok - sat level when I pulled the flap switch

The 14x9 seemed to pull heaps of amps, for some reason.

You reckon a 13x11 or 12.5x13 will generate more pull than a 14x9 but keep the amp draw within reason?

It's only got a cheapie HK SK3 960Kv in it...

Can't comment on that motor. I just know that high pitch allows you to to carry more speed, fly it more pylon-style than hotliner.

Get that insane Ammo 36mm motor... Plenty cheap for the power, KR was reporting he couldn't even take it to full throttle on the bench 1200+ Watts!!!

Sounds good

Which 'Ammo' is it, D6? (I'm guessing that there's more than one 36mm motor)

They make two I believe... The larger one is a wooly mammoth of a motor... KR was doing some research on it at his facility and by all accounts he didn't have the equipment to run her up full blast... He listed the test in some previous posts on this thread, a few pages back... I am tempted for sure aren't you?
