Holy Moly !!! That looks great. I will have to watch that thread because I would love to see that thing in the air. I wish somebody would come out with a Ju-88 or He-111. In fact, I can't think of anybody who has come out with a traditional bomber that is not so expensive to get.

Beagle,

Very nice. Do you know how fast it goes with the Mega and 10x10E in her?

Thanks. It is a Dubro 2" spinner. The guys at the hobby shop told me it would be too heavy for a parkflyer -- they don't know what they're talking about.

Most of them guys are clueless when it comes to aircraft.

thanks guys, I've never had a radar gun on it, but I used the same setup as MTwallet, who claims 83-87mph,
see thread
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...=355499&page=2

I bought a blue 2 1/4" Dubro spinner, and I have to admit I thought it was a bit heavy
maybe I can dremel some material out of the inside....

hand launches get a bit dicey above 20oz AUW.....

I think it boils down to this: They are long-time glow/gas pilots. They think of electric aircraft as "toys" which would not be able to lift the half-ounce weight of the spinner...

After using two of the Dubro 2" spinners, I will ALWAYS use them on my GWS aircraft. The Himax 2025-4200 didn't even know the spinner was there!

Another Spit

Recently completed my GWS Spitfire. This has been the first ďglass jobĒ that Iíve attempted to do. I used .75-fiberglass cloth and laid it down with Minwax water based polycrylic one coat and then lightly sanded. My Spit came out a little on the chunky side 20oz. Including one ounce of weight in the nose to get the proper CG with the battery pushed all the way up front. However I feel that Iíve got plenty of power to haul it around.

Equipment utilized:

Futuba 6exa transmitter
Hitec Feather receiver
Hitec HS-55 servoís
Cobri gear box 7.4:1
Himax 2025-5300
TP 11.1 2100
APC 9x7.5 E

Thanks to Red 61 on the magnet hint for the cowl.

Look forward to the maiden flight!
Regards,
Mike

Great job on your Spit, Mike.

Yep, you'll have more than enough power with the Himax 2025-5300, ask me how I know!

Red also have to thank you for all the tips on your ME 109 and Mustang threads. Helped lots.

FLMLM very nice. How does yours hand launch? Mine has been a bit squirrelly on launch. But once itís up it is awesome.
Anyway here is my covered spit.

APC E 9 6
TP 3S 2100
AUW 20 oz.

You are more than welcome. It makes me feel good to think I passed on some knowledge.

Besides, most of what I learned was directly from JMorgan.

Not to mention what I learned from the followers of my build threads.

Thanks for the kind comments on my Spit to this point the project has been a real success. Hmmm, what to do next.....I like the looks of the corsair and just happen to have one in the closet collecting dust..

Milesperpound I'm not sure about the hand launch yet haven't got the opportunity to fly mine yet. The maiden hand launch on a new airplane is a tense time for me I'll be sure to have fresh shorts and some toilet paper just in case

Regards
Mike
