I like the way the spitfire flys and I think it can also be flown at lower speeds without tip stalling so landing is a lot less stressful! other then that both a great kits!

Okay, thanks tallflyer. So it's to be a Spitfire...or an E-Flite P-47. LOL.

We have so many choices today. When I started electric flying back in the mid-80's there were few choices, mainly Leisure Electronics or Astro. Today electric flight is an industry within an industry and possibly soon to surpass the original combustion side of things.

Well I have both planes and love them both! you can see my all the gws planes I have built and flown on my website at www.sdparkflyers.com ( a note ) both planes fly great on a stock setup just ditch the nicad and nimh packs for a good 2 cell lipo and you will be happy! add a brushless setup and your plane will perform great at half power! I just got involved in Combat flying www.flatfoamflyers.com or www.2dogrc.com this planes use all your old gws gear and are a blast so dont ditch that GWS stuff just yet!

Nice finish on the spitfire Tom-Tom.
Thanks, robster! I hope, that I will make no "foamy snow" out of the spit at the day of maiden flight

Nice looking Corsair!

Let me tell you a little secret about your setup! watch the elevator throws!

the witht he stock setup is a great flyer but as we all feel the need for speed the elevators can be a little touchy at higher speed!

A little is LOT! on the Corsair! ( Ask me How I know) I have a video somewhere that shows me lawndarting my corsair. I went to do a loop from level flight at high speed and elevator caused my plane to do a belly floop into the ground it was kinda like it had air breaks! looked cool doing it but the result was a pile of foam!

so if you have a computer radio set the trims for very small and see how she flys!

Great plane otherwise!

Tallflyer,

Thank you for the compliment and the advice about the elevator, will do.

BTW, the CG is at 50mm from the leading edge of the wing (can't seem to get it back any more, I don't like to add dead weight), so the slight nose heavy condition should help some with the elevator twitchiness.

My setup and it flys great for me is the Stock Kit, no fiberglassing or anything! a Himax 2025-5300 just like yours I put the motor in the stock gws 350C mount ( flys like its on rails at half throttle) a GWSEP9070 prop works good! battery is a thunderpower 2 cell held in place with velcro pushed all teh way to the front of the battery tray! I only use Aileron/Elevator/Throttle on my GWS warbirds! great fun.

Just watch the Speed at first the GWS also has a great glide slope take it up about 200 feet and kill the power she will glide pretty well makes landing a snap!

Good luck and keep us posted on your madian!

USAAF 52Fg Spitfire

Finished my Spitten Kitten Spitfire,

It came out at 20oz. I used a very light himax 2808/950 motor and had to add 3oz to balance it.

Maiden Flight VIDEO! C-130 Hercules GWS

Awesome! built stock but (2-2100 TP Lipo Batteries)
Thanks to GWS for these great little airplanes, "keep them coming"

This plane flies really good, I love the way it looks, the way it turns, the way it glides! I'm so happy with this little airplane.

Flight was 20 minutes and the bat. was half the way.

to download the video right click HERE and save target as.

enjoy

Nice looking Herc... I really like that airplane...

Are you using the stock setup? If so, do you know how many amps it draws from the battery?

I have yet to see anyone make a belly lander version... Do you think that is a possibility?

EDIT --> I just watched the video. Wow, that airplane is BIG compared to the girl holding it at the start of the video. I could have lived the rest of my life without the icky rap music, but that's just me...

Hi Deric Veliz...

Enjoyed your video very much.... Very well done, was she the cameraman, too?
(The people taking my videos always seem to have morbus parkinson at a late stage!)

Cool design of the airplane and cool music, too...

Guess I finally will have to put the C130 on top of my "next-to-build"-list...

Thanks for sharing....
