Beagle,

I had to think for a minute, I just realized who you were...you built that beautiful Beaver a while back...

Did you ever get it to fly off the water with that wing ???

Was that a Rory wing ???

I had ZERO luck with my Rory wing on my RCMP Beaver...wrote the plane off on the maiden flight, I got smart for this one though, I went with the stock wing but I took a second stock wing and cut a section of the tips off to extend the first wing to a total scale length of 48".

I hope this will work, the maiden flight is this weekend...

Sam

Tracon,

Very nice GWS Beaver. Here's a video that I took of my friend Raul and his wife Yasmin flying their GWS beaver with floats:

it was a Barrett wing, which was my first glass attempt,
I had the stock 350 motor with KAN1050s and it was just too heavy to ROW...
since then I have gone brushless and lipos and have a P51 glassed that i fly now
here's some pics, then and now
Beagle

so how many???

it was 17 oz w/o battery
I really layered the glass and paint on way too thick, that build taught me a lot about being weight conscience....
unfortunately she never did ROW, I flew it a few times with wheels, but then I pulled all of the hardware out of her and hung her from the basement rafters, here's the build thread....

Hey Ernest, can you tell me about the B-2 DF that you have. Some say that this plane dose not fly. looks like the one you have dose!!! What motors do you have? what is the CG on this plane? Any other info would be helpful. I am building one right now.

Thanks,
Son House

Yeah, me too, but that was a moment of weakness. I was SO scared of offending the purists. It flew like a dream. but at 900 gms it was double the intended wing loading, even with an outrunner. One day it just refused to take a bank, tip stalled. No major damage, but has been presently retired. But like the phoenix, it will rise from the ashes and rule the skies again.

Another Brushless EDF A-10

Here is my newly built GWS A-10. Maiden yesterday by a much experienced flyer. With its AUW of 780gms (~27.5oz) this plane "floats" on the landing approach according to the guy who flew it and still has plenty of power for acro flying while only using 2cell lipo battery.
Hope to fly it this coming weekend.

2x Himark 2025/4200KV bl motor w/ heatsink
2x Otter25A bl esc
Electron6 receiver
2x HS-55 for aileron and elevator
1x P&C 6grms servo for steering
2x 1700mAh 2s1p Lipoly equiv. to 3400mAh 2s2p which gives it 9mins flying time with WOT.
AUW ~780gms
