Great looking plane, you will love the way she flys also one of my favorite GWS planes, the only problem with this kit is that fuselage between the elevator and the wings is pretty week and can break in a hard landing. otherwise its a great flying plane all stock works great.

USMC/Rob -- You're putting my work to shame, man! Your ME-109 looks AWESOME!

I was going to do what you did with your panel lines, but when I fiberglassed it, the panel lines more or less disapeared... You can still see them when the light hits it just right (which, I guess is the way it's supposed to be)...

Not that I'm the master builder or anything, but have you ever considered making a color photocopy of the GWS decals onto decal paper? That way, you get much better looking, much lighter decals.

Ramones -- I've been looking at that e-flightline.com power system... What kind of amp draw are you pulling with that setup?

Sorry, I don't know. I always go with their combo's and trust their judgement. I especially like that they provide all soldering on the combo's. I have the same system in my other GWS P-51 and have never had a problem. I really should get a watt meter though, now that you bring it up I'm curious myself .

Well, the reason I ask is that I bought one of their combos, and I LOVE it! I bought the 2025-4200 with Cobri 20 5.67:1 gearbox. I fly an APC 10x7 (or sometimes an APC 11x7) prop, and I pull about 12 amps at WOT. The airplane goes about 45 to 50 mph, and has unlimited vertical.

I like my setup so much, I'm afraid to try another one! I've tried several outrunners, and I've always been disapointed (amp draw is too high, and I don't get nearly the performance I get with the Himax).

So -- my next question is, have you tried the e-flightline 2025-4200 with 5.67:1 gearbox combo? If so, is it any better or worse than the 2025-5300 with 7.4:1 gearbox?

Thanks!

Hi Red, Just the set-up I listed. I really liked it in my first P-51 so I got the same thing, as I really didn't see the need for any additional power. With that motor and battery you can pretty much do whatever you want with the plane.
Ramone

**edit** Thanks guys for the idea for my new avtar

Kudos, Ramone!

David -- why on earth would you pull out brushless power and install 400 speed brushed power with D gearing?!
