55" Cessna 182 Conversion Questions
I'm looking to convert our 55" 50oz (wet) Cessna 182 to e-power and I have my heart set on an AXI. Most of the conversions are coming in around 3lbs or so. I've poured over the Great Electric Motor Test figures endlessly but I'd like some real world advice on which 28xx series motor I should buy.
I'm looking for long flight times on a 3 cell 4000mAh lipoly and I don't need anything near unlimited vertical. I need to be able to get out of trouble if a wind gust hits me the wrong way but I'm mostly looking for scale, gentle flight. I'm torn between the 2808/24 and the 2814/12. Both motors will do 45oz on 3s with a 10x5 APC Electric but the 2814 is larger and heavier. 30A is about the limit for the intended packs but I'm willing to buy higher rated cells if I absolutely have to.
