Well, got this bird well under construction already. Used a 1/8" wood dowel through the fuselage as that is what I had on hand. Going to install bamboo skewers under the wing shortly and add an elevator support. Will take pics tomorrow or Sunday and post. Great easy build.

As for power, I am going to use a GWS style IPS motor with a 4.1:1 gear ratio and lipo batteries.

Ok. Here's the poop on my bird. Assembly is complete, finally. AUW without battery is at 5.5 oz. A little porky for my liking, but it was the best I can do. With my battery, AUW ready to fly is at around 7.10 oz, this weight was achieved by an online product description of my battery. I need to use my 800mAh 2s due to tail heaviness. I tried to build as light as possible, but this was my best. Pics will be posted tomorrow if time allows. Thanks for the great plans again.

Possibly this week if time permits and also that my LHS has the right prop in stock. The one on is a 1047, and I need a 9047 or 8060 for it.

Your results may vary. If I see it correctly, you need servos, motor, esc, battery? Depending on where you live or timing it will vary. At HobbyKing, I would estimate $30 for motor, battery(2), esc. Just a rough guess without going to the site. Also, 1 sheet of FFF, or 2 sheets of DollarTree foamboard.

Motor $10.00

ESC $10.00

Battery and prop $9.00

Servos $3.00 each

= $35 plus shipping . Shipped from the US so your sure to get it in time for Christmas

You can get foam at the dollar store by the sheet or you can buy a whole box of the good stuff from Modelplanefoam.com

Hey Waterdog,

I don't think I ever posted on this thread................but I wanted to tell you that I must have taught a dozen people to fly rc using this airplane. Since I had access to a plotter at work, I scaled it up to about a 45 or 50 inch wingspan. What a great simple design that withstood (easily repaired anyway) the torment from many newbie flyers young and old. Great design. In fact it got me started with the whole FFF. Just wanted to let you know..................

IS This an STC?

I saw this video two days earlier and searched the net for a build log and plans: could'nt find any.

Then i tried my luck here and it sure looks like one of the STC variants.

I am posting this video here and I Just want to

a) ascertain that it is an STC and
b) show the craftmanship of aerosportrc on this plane and its flight performance.

If this is not an STC or if the builder has already posted this video here or if he does not like it being posted here (phew! ) then I contacted here I shall take this down.

HTC Lite Airplane: Maiden Test Flight (6 min 8 sec)

Here are a few pics of the plane.

If it is not an STC ( very disappointing, will have to search more ) then can somebody please tell me what it is?

If that wasn't built from STC plans, I better call the zoo about my nephew...

even the fake windows are identical.... I seem to remember years ago someone on here built one with lightening holes and coverd it, but wouldnt know how to search the thread to find it...
