Has anyone successfully installed Power ProView on windows 7?

I just got a new laptop and cant get it to run properly. The problem seems to be the USB drivers. I keep getting an error message that I need a 64 bit version of the driver install program.

Any help would be appreciated.

Now I need to go look at whether it runs now. I got it installed on Windows 7 Starter on my Acer and I've since installed Home Premium 64.....hmmmmmm.......

Did you have a chance to test it out?

Today I received from Jeff L. (Mri) a driver package for Win7 64 bits
ProView v 2.2.1.2 is now running on my Win7 home PC
What I have done
a) Install ProView from Mri website
b) Download the zipped file WinDriver Default (2.08.02)
c) Extract in some folder (for example \ProgramFiles\MedusaResearch\WinDriver)
d) Put on that folder a copy of DPinst.exe (for me coming from \windows\system32)
e) From that folder run DPinst.exe .. authorize all ...
f) See that 2 drivers are installed
g) Run ProView without USB cable
h) Connect the USB cable .. wait to have driver OK
i) Now you can "connect" (menu)

I got it to work - finally!

I could not find a copy of DPINST.exe on my computer. I had to download the WDK driver kit and install that. Then it took several tries to find the correct 64 bit version of the program.

Finally got the 2 drivers to install, but PPView still would not run correctly.

Uninstalled and re-installed PPV and got the same message that I needed the 64bit version of DPINST!!!

Copied the newer version into the same folder as the installer for PPV and that worked BUT now Im getting the error message that Im missing the MRIxx...DLL file. Grrrrr

Finally found that and moved it manually into the PPV run folder and...... IT WORKS!

Just scored one on ebay for $13 shipped, what a deal! Super easy to use too, hats off to Medusa for making such an easy product.

The only software bug was the MRI2xx.dll, so I just copied that to my windows folder and it worked fine after that.

First run!

Anyone have a unit that they willing to part with?

I really need one with a temp probe for battery monitoring.

Does anyone know if the latest software for the Power Analyzer PRO is still available? I had it running on my laptop (Windows 7 64 bit) but that laptop is history. Trying to rebuild everything on a new laptop.

PeteB, Rob, BEC, thanks for getting back to me. Hopefully I have everything I need. Also, I agree BEC. I was fortunate enough to get a couple of Jeff's motors years ago and I corresponded with him a few times. I believe him and his products will be missed.
