Buccaneer old timer

Would anyone have any photos or information on a large size Buccaneer?

There were several sizes of the Buccaneer designed by Bill Effinger between 1936 & 1940. Bob Holman Plans http://www.bhplans.com/ has both the cad plans and outstanding laser short kits. Jim

Ben Buckle offers kits for the Standard Bucc and the Super (heavier and streamlined) - also plans for these plus the charming little "Baby Buccaneer".

Some Buc Pics

Jerico,
These are not much, but of a Buc I purchased from my friends son.
Friend was 88 and I remeber him 50 + years ago flying it with tube RX and
escapements. Has a 90" W/S and Fox Eagle covered with either silk or
nylon and dope. Flys like a DREAM !!!

Jericho,
The AMA website has the John Pond plan collection listed. The lage Buc plan is listed for $12.00. I don't know how good these plans are, but it might be worth a look for the money they're asking.

Every version of the Buc' that I've seen has flown well but from memory there was an updated version published by MAN a few years back as redone by Doc' Mathews and his structures and updates fly extremely well. I know because I've had a few over the years. In some ways depends on whether you want absolute authenticity or a really practical day to day flier.

Dave,
That Doc Matthews Buc plan is still available from RCstore.com It's plan # fsp1803 and sells for $19.95 (US)
I've built the Matthews version of the Brigadier and it's a great flyer.
