Thanks lowdive and Skypoet! I made some small changes to help a little with the aerodynamics but all in all she’s pretty close.
Ya the falcon in the photo was a scan, when it copied the image flipped The original has the cockpit on the right side. I thought the paint job Looked cool though.

The text in the scan was a bit of a give-away. (althought I thought it was supposed to be some cool sci-fi alien font for a second or two...)

A falcon that could take off and land vertically! Now that would be scale and too cool!

How about a land speeder or a pod racer using a clear flat plate to connect the engine and the pod?

VTOL - wow nice those guys are getting it done! very cool! Seems like if there's a full scale plane built that flys, there's got to be a way ta do it RC.

Falcon motor mount - staying with the 'Keep it simple" idea I built the motor mount using some light ply. Its very strong and should hold up well.

GO-RC is from Arizona?

Im starting to think Arizona is the capital of R/C innovation. Must be all that sun!

Great project, you gotta post the video when complete. Just remember lots of thrust and she will fly no matter what!

The french have a knack of using their own language for things it isn't made for - like flying machines
actually it says that the holes are for sucking in the boundary layer, which delays stall and improves controllability and performance.
That said, this only makes sense on some kind of airfoil where there is a decent boundary layer to start with...
May the force be with you all

This is the set up I'm going to use. Not 100% sure but I believe it will give me around 28 oz of thrust. My Motocalc trial is over but if someone could run this for me I would apperciate it.

Motor: Hi-max HA2025-4200 w 4.4:1 gearing
Battery: Thunder Power 11.1v 1320 mAh lipo
Prop: APC 10x4.7 SF or 9X7.5 SF
ESC: Castle Creations Phoenix 25

I goanna be over my target weight a little it looks like. Total flying weight is going to be about 20 oz.

LuftAdler - Its beautiful here today(as you know). No clouds, no wind and 80 degrees. Perfect maiden weather. I got to "Get er done". By the way your White knight Project is very cool!

Looking good. Glad to see you didn't cut into the mandibles, and have the prop on the outside.

The manible cutout really bugger up the strength in that area. For me, it was very noisy as well. That option is far more desirable.
GO-RC, how are you gonna paint it? You could print some paper graphics off and stick em down onto the falcon. It would probably look much better than a direct paint job.

I batter get a new falcon built soon. I know the first one works, but i want to try the paper graphics, they would aid with strengh on a polystyrene frame like mine.

BTW, with that big prop, i bet you will hover. We said VTOL, not prop hang!

Go, GO-RC!!
